Boy's Abyss

This manga had potential, but now I just think it's dog shit. I'm on Vol 13 and everyone that recommended it said that it was sad and that the MC has a hard time. But dude, the mangaka literally made everyone wanna fuck MC. I'm pretty sure his own mother wants to fuck him. It's getting so bizarre and stupid that I think the whole concept is a mess.

Someone please tell me it gets better? Or is just MC's haram of bitches.

One weird thing you do as manga reader??

For me I never used to take recc from others for a long time cause I had no clue that there is thing called communities for ts and later when I did I came to know that it always comes a with opinion. And I don't like getting spoiled. Plus I like first finding out how I feel about something before knowing any sort of general opinion about it. So even if I happend to hear that something is hated I would on purpose add it on my read list for later when I will finally forget the spoiler. Sometimes you can genuinely like what others hate so doing this just makes sense to me.And sometimes I wanna see bad it can be. I do sometimes read even if I'm spoiled but that case is still preety rare.

Dieter and Tenma from Monster in "The Yerres, effect of rain" by Caillebotte (art by me)

Dieter and Tenma by the river.

The landscape is taken from “The Yerres, effect of rain” by Gustave Caillebotte.

I wanted to do another study of an impressionist painting since I really love them and I added a Monster touch, another of my great passions 😁

This is so true for Guts!!!

Personally when I first saw this means, I was like yeah it's actually pretty true for guts. Yes he suffers for her but at the end of the day, it's because he loves her more than anything in berserk world.

Back When You Called Us Devils by Sano Takashi

Interesting manga I’ve been reading all night long, lol

The MC did some seriously fucked up things in the past, then suddenly disappeared for six months. Out of nowhere, he comes back with amnesia, having forgotten almost everything he did...
I'm not even done reading yet, but this manga has me constantly scratching my head, like, wtf is actually going on here? Every new chapter just raises more questions. Make me sus of every single character, everyone feels like they're hiding something or has their own agenda..probably

which manga is better Monster or 20th Century Boys?

For those of you who have read both which one did you enjoy the most. I'm starting to think I made the wrong choice buying 20th, since I'm a student I can only afford one series at a time.

Suicide Girl - unique and gorgeous art

So I know this is an unusual recommendation. I'm not really into magical girl shows at all, but I wanted to give this one a try because it has a "horror/seinen" vibe. It was also recommended on "MAL 2025 manga to read" into unique art/story category.

I wanted to try something I don't usually read at all, What a surprised!

The story deals with a serious topic, but what really surprised me was the artwork, which I find quite unique and truly interesting.

Plus, the manga is only 10 volumes long, so it’s a great series to read through in just a few days.

MAL link.

Okay, I need more recommendations.

I'm still pretty new to seinen, as I've only read Vinland Saga and Berserk. Both of them are now some of my favourite stories I've read.
So now I want to go from here. I honestly don't really care much about what genre it may be, I just want another masterpiece to play with my heart strings and make me overthink a lot.
Tell me some of your favourites and maybe I'll check them out

Lifelong western comics fan getting into manga

My partner got me to read the first volume of Fool Night months ago and i recently continued the journey. Currently on vol 5 and this series is good good. For fellow comics fans, it feels like the best mid-00s Vertigo series that never was.

Any suggestions of what to read next based on Fool Night being such a hit for me?

Am I kind of "growing out" of manga?

Just as title states, been trying to get into some good manga and I feel its actually just my age setting in now. I cant seem to find an enjoyable one that isn't 30 years old and incomplete . I cant watch anime without it just being kids, all the psychological/Seinen manga's I haven't read are just shock value or disappointments. I used to love finding manga's like climber or Holyland that gave me inspiration, drive, or told a story of a future they could grasp but I just cant seem to find it anymore. Maybe im stuck in a vat of nostalgia but even Kouji Mori's newer D.Diver and sousei no taiga just seem BAD(right now). Kind of a monologue , But do any of yall feel this slump? How do you get out of it or is this is just the slow end of my enjoyment of manga and anime?

Edit: It seems like the most accurate diagnosis is simply burnout. Ill be taking a break from manga and anime entirely and hoping that once I return I feel the spark of joy I once had. Your suggestions below have been awesome and I am actually excited to check out a large majority of these titles. Thank you all for your suggestions, I do appreciate them. I wish you all the best and may have to return in a few months for more recommendations lol.

I think the hiatus is over? New chapter of [Amateur Vigilante] just dropped.

One of my favourite mangas at the moment, and I'm glad to see it back.

New to manga/manhwa — looking for recommendations!

Hey

I'm still pretty new to manga and manhwa, so I don't really know what I like yet. So far I've only read The Greatest Estate Developer and Oyasumi Punpun (Goodnight Punpun), and I absolutely loved both, even though they're completely different.

I don't really mind the genre—action, psychological, fantasy, romance, comedy, mystery, anything. I just want something that's genuinely fun to read and hard to put down.

One thing I really enjoyed in The Greatest Estate Developer was the constant sense of progression and watching things improve over time. But I'm open to anything if it's a great read.

If you have any hidden gems or personal favorites, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Any mangas like Usogui

Doesn’t have to be a gambling or an SCD type manga. I care more about the writing quality, enjoyment and peaks of a story. I haven’t found something I enjoyed as much as Usogui yet.

Stopped reading DEAD Tube further

First of all, I like reading gore and non conventional stories.

Dead tube started off great for me, the concept was unique and kinda was meta as well showing how social media can really fuck our minds mentally and physically if taken extremely.

But as the chapters progressed it just repetitive for me, like every arc is just the same, the characters are just one dimensional, and the story just doesn't go forward.

I read 75 chapters and stopped after feeling exhausted.

Is it just me or others think the same?
