Buyers remorse- am I just being stupid?
Let me preface this by saying that I am extremely grateful to have the capability to spend £700 on a wheelchair right now, and I'm not taking that for granted at all!
I found a deal for a second hand (only used twice by prev owner) quickie argon 2, and a benoit system light drive 2.1, all for £795. The battery on the Lightdrive is dead as it hasn't been used since its first use, so will only be about an extra 100 to fix, all in all very cheap!! I was sent an offer for £700 and impulsively bought it as I had my heart set on it and knew it was a good deal, and if the seller was sending offers to the other people who had it in their basket then I needed to act fast.
It arrived today, and I was startled by how big and clunky it felt?? I really struggle to do wheelies in it, and despite it being the correct seat size, it's so much wider than my usual non-active chair of the same seat size (18"). So wide that I'm struggling to manoeuvre it around my flat. To top it off, I'm really struggling with how tiny the wheels are and how far back they are, it's hurting my shoulders a lot. It also seems a lot heavier than 8kg but I presume that's down to the battery holder that is installed in case you want to use the power assist (not the actual device, but just the brackets etc).
I don't know, I'm just feeling pretty down at how difficult it is to manoeuvre and it's not quite what I had it in my head as. I'm aware this is probably just stupid but if anyone more knowledgeable has ideas on how some of these things can be alleviated or changed (I'm awful with alterations but if I know what I'm doing I can) then I would be so, so grateful.
