Kastking Royale Legend Pro Spinning opinions

Hey everyone. I was looking to get some opinions on the Kastking Royale Legend Pro Spinning rod/reels. I think together they’re about $150-$180ish. I wanted to pair the 2000 or 3000 with the medium power rod. I love the look and trying to figure out if i should pull the trigger on it.

It’s very hard to find unsponsored/unaffiliated reviews on this setup so i was wondering if anyone on here has any experience with them. Also I know Kastking makes a lot of cheap crappy stuff, so i’m only really looking for insight on this specific line of gear. Thanks.

Joes Flies - Anybody have experience with these?

Picked up some of these at walmart. Was just curious if anybody has had success with these? And how are they used? I’m wondering if i should just cast them out and let them float down stream or if I should fish them like an inline spinner/rooster tail. Let me know. thanks.

Budget Beast - Okuma Halogen Combo

I’m not sure if this is available anymore. I think it was released in like 2022. Well, I picked up this combo at my local Sierra (discount outdoors store), and my goal was to have it be my fiancés combo. Retail on one of these was $129.99, they had it for just $49.99.

I spooled it up, with pink braid ofc for her, and i’ve kind of fallen in love with it myself. There’s something so cool about budget gear that feels smooth and sturdy, and finding a good deal is a great feeling. Has anyone else ever tried this combo?

Shimano Sienna 2500 for only $17.49

I’ll take this small win. I know the Shimano Sienna isn’t an expensive reel but i’ve heard a lot about it being great on a budget so when dicks had it for 50% off i said why not? I wasn’t planning on buying a reel today btw 😅

I need a budget rod to pair it with. I tend to like medium light/medium setups. I was considering the Berkeley Cherrywood but if anyone has some recommendations let me know.

caught my first (kind of) pike. He was 25.5 inches.

About a week ago I was bass fishing at this spot with a black and blue football jig. Got bit and hooked into what I thought was a bass..reeling in I looked at his eyes and top of his head and realized it was a pike. Right after that he bit right through my 8 pound fluoro leader and took my jig.

So i decided it was time for redemption. Went to the bait store and bought some steel leaders and a black/blue strike king spinner. Went out today and caught a pike. I’ve never handled a pike so i was a bit nervous and I also know the heat makes it tough on these fish and that’s why the pic isn’t great lol. I did measure him but didn’t weigh him, he was 25.5 inches. Quickly got him back in the water and he swam off strong

Looking for fishing spots along the mississippi/dubuque.

Hi everybody. I’m born and raised in dubuque and I really wanna catch some bass, pike, walleye etc in the river. I have been struggling to find good spots though. I have tried a ton of spots in the dubuque harbor near the river museum, i’ve tried near the lock and damn, near the marina on rhomberg, etc. I have tossed out worms and live minnows, I have used every artificial in the book (ned rigs, senkos, spinners, crankbaits, chatterbaits, flukes, jigs etc. Nothing seems to work and i’m wondering if there’s something i’m doing wrong or if i’m just not fishing in the right place/time. I would love some insight and advice and possibly some good spots. If you’re worried about posting your favorite spot on a public forum, i totally get it. Feel free to inbox me if you want.
