45cal Blast Chamber sizing

Laying out the baffles on a 45cal Dcell, does a rough 30mm blast chamber before rear baffle seem enough? I added ribs in the chamber for her pleasure, and for hoop strength for the button hole.

Maglite Cans are slept on.

I think they're sexy, and very quiet. 4 baffle stack with 1.25" blast chamber.

12in FTN DCELL vs Obsidian 9

Dcell seems a hair quieter. Form over practicality.

FTN 45cal rifle at 0.20mm layer height?

If metal tube reenforced, would 0.20mm layer height be sufficient? I'm think of sticking to 0.15mm but wanted to ask the brain trust.

FTN DDDDDDDCELL

Bring your jokes fuckers. 6 baffles, due to miscalculation. FTN 5.1 max turbulence baffles, and a custom blast chamber / thread mount. Alignment rod was perfectly concentric.

Fine, I'll do it myself.

Form 1 SBR approved a week after the 4th of July sales and everything is out of stock. I ain't wait'n. Onshape go beep boop, 3d printer go brrrr. I'm very happy with my FDE accents. I can go full black gun when the parts come back in stock.

Dialling in the aesthetic, not quite there.

Form1 came back and all the parts I want are out of stock, so I'm doing it myself. Stock v1 is too small, v2 comfortable but looks too thick, so v3 will probably a taller version of v1.

Lee Challenger Right-Side Case Kicker v1

Case Kicker that ejects to the right, and kicks at the end of travel to allow for longer cartridges. Interacts with the Press handlebar, so the handlebar must be completely vertical when in the up position. Decapping Primer ramp included, as the Lee primer arm will cause the case to bind.

Case kickers speed up the process and quality of life for the reloader. My setup requires case access from the right, all the other kickers load/eject to the left. Figured others could use this too.

Two versions included. 3mm screw and #6 screw.

Hardware needed:

  • Zip Ties
  • Rubber band
  • M3x+20mm screw or #6 x +3/4" screw.

Instructions:

Screw the kicker, mount, and foot together. Ziptie the mount to the left side of the press' front column. Loop rubber band around front notch on kicker, then feed the rubberband around the front of the column and around it to the back, feed UNDER the kicker and attach to the rear peg of the mount. See pictures.

Print settings:

  • Filament: PLA/PETG/ASA/PA
  • 3 perimeters
  • 30% infill

Troubleshooting: If the kicker binds on the ram, slide the mount higher up the column

PSA: The FTN5 Slim exists. Thanks StruggleFearless2947

I do like em thick, but a slim waist is nice too. FTN 5 Rimfire, FTN 5 Rimfire Slim, SiCo Sparrow, all sound exactly the same. Nice and quiet.

The FTN5.1 PACK has the slim, it prints in half the time. All my 22s will have dedicated cans now.

Yes, I had two stamp approvals this week.

First 3D2A Can of many

FTN 5 Rimfire with a little added girth for strength and drip. Happy accident with the grippy texture grooves due to over-extruding perimeters. FIBERON PA6CF20 on an old Prusa MK3S printer. It is more than possible.

▲ 20 r/3D2A

First Stamps came in, starting to print.

I've seen people have various issues with Fiberon PA6CF20 layer strength with sub-optimal printing setups. My setup falls into that category I think, so I added more external thickness to the FTN 5 Rimfire in hopes to add layer strength. I doubt the cosmetic remix adds strength but I hear cool-factor shaves off a couple decibels.

Printer setup: Prusa MK3S with hardened 0.6mm nozzle, SUNLU 70C filament dryer (30hr predry), ghetto enclosure with plexiglass lid and 400W space heater fan with 108*F max thermostat controller.

Fiberon Factory profile modified: 290C nozzle, 50C bed.

Print: 0.15mm layer height, 4 perimeters, .65mm default width, .75mm perimeters, .70mm external perimeters

65% thru 22 hrs on print one. No print failures so far. Will report back.
