A question for my high elo Ana mains

Replay code: NYT2NJ

Gold/plat Ana

This season has been a little rough and haven’t changed my play style . To be fair I don’t like to heal bot and my heal numbers are usually lower than the other support. I try to use my cooldowns for anti nades or saving teammates. Depending on the other support I’ll change my play style. Has the damage passive really affected support that much? Should I try and heal bot more? Got flamed by a gringe stat warrior which is funny because on attack therewasn’t any complaining because we kept making plays. I’m not a great support player by any means and I know can do better. Just feels like it has gotten more difficult. I play Ana mainly on long range maps and I do great on those maps but recently it’s been rough.I’m just wondering what other Ana players have been experiencing. Ana having the weakest sub role probably doesn’t help any.

In the vod we rolled on attack , defense was a struggle.I had a Moira on my team so I thought “oh cool I can focus on anti heals” . I know my heals are dookie and so is my cd management, but my Mei started crying and eventually started griefing walling me off to kill me. I made dumb mistakes on defense for sure. Also I made it worst by eventually intentionally not healing him because how toxic he was. To be fair he started using walls on me before I got to that point

How do you get this?

I’ve seen this around lately and I don’t know where to get it. Anyone know how to get it? I’m sure it’s something dumb or that you can’t get anymore but it would be greatly appreciated just to satisfy my curiosity

Before I start this isn’t a “why are my tanks/dps/supports throwing my games” rant

It feels like I’m the only one taking high ground most games. The enemy team then contests me (fighting an enemy for high ground is fine ) but I’m the only one. I understand sometimes people have bad games, you get out played etc but Some times my team mates never look back, never look up, and never take control of high ground. I know how to rank up and I’m not complaining about my rank. I just want peoples thoughts on this. How do you play a high ground centric maps and stay on the ground all match? Only do you only go forward or die to things you have that, not only have been warned about ,but repeatedly get punished by it.(like don’t go into a small room with a junk rat not counter watch stuff). I don’t get.

I try to just do call outs like “ this guy doesn’t have *X CD*” “this guy is here” or “we really need to take this space they are shooting us in the back( usually high ground)” ultimately I’m alone trying to contest space that we have to take. I use the knowledge of “superior positioning” to win my games but I rarely see my team mates do the same. How do you out play an entire team out positioning your team? I don’t want it to sound like I’m making excuses for my rank , i just needed to vent because watching people do the stupidest things imaginable takes its toll. Today on Dorado I watched a diamond 4 Ana face tank an Orisa on defense first point next to the building in front of the spawn doors. How do people with horrendous positioning rank up?

What is really confusing is when these same people are confused on why we are losing. I explain it to them so they don’t get tilted but it’s like they don’t have eyes or any kind of situational awareness. It’s more evident when I play support. I use to hate LifeWeaver but now I understand how/why people rank up with him and started playing him (he is actually fun to play). Saving stupid people character design W😂. I needed to rant, thank your time GL on your games
