Looking for the cleanest way to remove the passenger foot peg mounts on my 2014 Monster 696. I found these rearsets on eBay, but I’m not sure if there’s a better option or a cleaner delete setup.
Has anyone here removed theirs? Did you go with rearsets, a peg delete kit, or modify the stock brackets?
I’m replacing a bunch of the old rusty hardware on my 2014 Monster and was wondering if any of these universal bolt kits actually work well, or if there’s a specific kit I should be looking for instead.

I'm getting ready to do the desmo service on my Monster 696, so already have a bunch of parts off the bike. A lot of the black plastics are faded, some of the aluminum has corrosion/oxidation, and I'm considering repainting a few pieces while it's apart. I'm mainly looking for advice on:
Restoring faded plastics?
Painting aluminum covers?
Refinishing or coating exhaust pipes?
Products/processes that actually hold up long term?
What products actually last?
Paint vs plastic restorers?
Best way to refinish aluminum parts?
Anyone repaint exhaust piping or engine covers successfully?

My chef knives need cleaned up and sharpened. I’ve been looking around Denver, and I see some places use machines while others sharpen by hand on.
What are your thoughts on both methods? Is one generally better than the other?
I'm getting the bike ready for the Colorado summer, and I'm feeling a little disappointed. Unsatisfied? Maybe just feeling like it's lacking something. The bike rides great, but it feels like it needs something new to give it a fresh pop.
Any ideas? or am I just overthinking it and needing to get out and rid?
