Why.

After begging for years, my mil has had my 2 older kids for the past two days. It’s been really helpful because we’re in the US and hosting 4th of July, so it’s given us some much needed time to clean the house without kids trailing us.

We told everyone to come in the afternoon so we would have time to get the outside together. We also have a 10 month old who demands to be held at all times. Tell me why this woman informs us she will be arriving with our kids 2 hours earlier than we invited people to come.

I freaked out and told my husband to tell her absolutely not, which he did. He told me he did tell her she could come a little early, but two hours?!?!

She claimed she would help but she isn’t actually helpful because she just follows me around telling me the same stories she’s been telling me for the past 10 years and telling me I “don’t need to worry” about my decorations for the party, etc.

She also wouldn’t be able to hold the baby bc baby is in stranger danger mode.

This woman drives me insane.

What’s the texture that makes you wish you didn’t have hands

Chalk. I refuse to touch chalk and I don’t even like thinking about it to be honest. If I must touch it I will use a napkin as a barrier and then wash my hands 47 times.

Do you swap out clothes for the seasons?

I thought everyone did this but when I’ve mentioned it to people I’ve gotten looks like I have three heads. My husband also thinks it’s weird but I grew up doing this.

I live in a place where there are very distinct hot and cold seasons. Do you do this? Or am I really the weird one lol

My chicken sharted

One of my ladies hatched chicks this past week, she has been an active and attentive mom. We had to sequester her inside our coop because I’m afraid our other chickens will try to attack the babies. We’ve kept the coop clean and she’s had constant access to food and water. I was just in checking on them and she loudly expelled “gas” accompanied by a jet stream of loose poop. She hasn’t laid any eggs in at least 5 days, but this is our first time with a broody mom hatching chicks so I don’t know if that’s normal or not.

Is this a problem? She’s been fluffed up when we go in but I’ve been attributing that to her not wanting us around her babies. TIA!
