Royal Highlands Crab Event?

Hi fellow Palians! I've been playing a few days now and just went to the Royal Highlands for the first time, finally have a mount!! Anyways as I was riding around on a quest, I saw something pop up saying something about a crab event. I was really curious but not able to get over there in time so I asked in the chat, but no one got back to me. I figured this was the next best place to ask!

Wi-Fi Issues

Hey everyone, I hope this is the right sort of place to ask this! So we've been with the same company for about two years now. Never had any issues, everything has been perfect. Around a year ago our neighbours wanted to get new Wi-Fi and this meant installing a new telegraph pole (opposite end of terraced row from nearest). Fast forward to a week ago, they installed the new pole and connected everything up. It runs off of the old existing pole (the one ours is connected to), and the wire passes at the very corner of our house. I think this is relevant because since they did all of this, our Wi-Fi periodically goes out for a couple of minutes at a time every so often. Sometimes it's every 20-30 minutes, sometimes it's great for a couple of hours then goes out many times in a short period again.

We called our provider on Thursday and they said they increased our speeds, and would monitor things and told us to monitor it also. I started a log to record when it went out, but after over 50 incidents in two days I got tired of it. They told us to call back after 48hrs to let them know if it is still not fixed. They sort of dismissed what I said about the new pole and wire being installed, but the first outage happened within minutes of them connecting everything up. This has never ever happened before. 48 hours was yesterday, and lo and behold, we got an automated message saying they are closed weekends.

I am disabled and gaming is pretty much my lifeline, so being kicked out of calls and games constantly is wearing me thin. My mother works from home, and has lost in the region of around £800 just in the period of time this has been going on for because she is kicked out of calls constantly. We desperately need this fixing, but it feels like they are really giving us the run around. We are so close to cancelling it and going with another provider, but I'm worried that if this is a physical issue with the new wiring, it'll potentially still happen when we switch. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and any recommendations of things I could say when I call on Monday would be much appreciated also. I'm definitely a bit of a pushover so I feel nervous about asking for a better deal or something as compensation if this ever gets fixed, mostly because if this is an issue caused by the other company then it isn't our providers fault.

I'm also in the UK if that is in any way relevant. Thank you so much!

This is Weems, our final adoptive son (so far)

This is my baby Weems! I already posted Lomsie earlier, this is her brother Weems who we adopted last January from the same shelter as Lomsie and Richard.

His story is also a very sad one unfortunately, he was rounded up along with many other cats from a hoarders home. The actual number of cats? Well we’re not exactly sure, a crazy amount. They seem to have all just been left to breed and breed and have very little food. When we saw Weem’s post on the shelters page, we realised he had been pulled at the same time as Lottie and we never knew it. We didn’t even see him when we went, and trust me I looked at every cat in there. He spent all of his time sleeping somewhere as quiet as he could find, confused when someone tried to touch him. He’d either gently close his mouth around their hand and monch them, or he’d put his paw on their hand and push it away.

He has always had this shocked look on his face, his little eyes going ever so slightly different ways. When I saw his picture I sobbed to my fiancé begging him to take me to him straight away. We went to “just meet him”, weird how I needed the cat carrier to meet him, and it was love at first bite. He monched me gently and I knew then he was a very special boy who could be very easily misunderstood.
Weems is a professional Zzz’s catcher, which is great for me because I have a bunch of health problems and I’m always tired. He is always in the funniest positions, lazing his days away without a care in the world. Unless it’s breakfast or dinner time, then he’ll do a big yawn and contort himself out of whatever position he ended up in.

If I had to describe Weem’s I’d simply tell you he’s my soul cat. I never thought I’d meet another cat who seemed to just reach into my soul and see me, but that’s exactly what he did. Whether it was his big ole eyes being the window to the soul, or his permanently shocked expression, he had me from the first blurry picture I saw of him.

When we first got Weems, he wouldn’t come on the furniture for anything. He acts a little feral when we give him some chicken or something like that, he is very gentle but he takes it to a corner to eat. He would climb walls to get it however. But at first not even the juiciest piece of chicken could coax him onto the couch or the bed. We eventually decided that it was maybe because someone hurt him when he tried to get onto the furniture at some time in his life.
One night as we’re about to sleep, we hear one of them coming up the cat ramp onto the bed. When we saw it was him we both froze, thinking if we moved he’d run away. Well when we froze, so did he hahah. So we quietly went back to talking and he walked in between us, and started doing what I can only describe as interpretive dancing. He was doing the whole making biscuits thing, but with all four legs. Up and down up and down the bed! Every now and then he’d freeze as if analysing the spot and decide it wasn’t good enough and keep going. Eventually he settled on the perfect spot, but once he laid down his little legs still kept going. All four of them, kneading away at nothingness.

Seeing him finally be comfortable and relaxed was one of the best moments of my life. He has so much character, I could write forever about all the things he’s done in the short time he’s been with us for. He is my best friend, we love him so much. Thank you for reading about my Premium Weemium, it is a privilege to tell his story.

This is Lottie, also known as Lompie Gorl

Hi everyone! I hope this is okay to post. So this is my little Lottie (Lompie Gorl), she was the second cat we adopted after our big orange bundle of love.
Her story is that she lived with an elderly lady, who very sadly passed away and had no other family. No one knew she had passed for around two weeks. Eventually authorities were alerted, and they found her cowering under the couch next to her deceased owner.

The authorities put her in the local shelter and she was given a couple of weeks to be adopted. She was so terrified that she was never visible to potential adopters because she was pinned in the back of her cage, absolutely devastated. An amazing no kill shelter pulled her and I happened to be in the states visiting my fiancé at the time (I’m from the U.K., we’re LDR for now). We were actually on the beach about an hour from the shelter, when we saw them put the post up. She was in the arms of her rescuer with eyes like dinner plates, truly terrified. We looked at each other and knew what to do. We’ve never ran so fast with beach chairs and kindles and towels in our lives.

We get there and the volunteer is trying to show her to us, but she is so scared she was just hiding in a little house inside her crate. We didn’t want to further traumatise her so we adopted her, house and all, and on the way home she pooped all over herself because she was so scared. I cleaned her up as best as I could without even seeing her, and put her in a nice quiet corner in her house. It took four days to see her.

One night, I’d got some bad news and was crying in bed trying not to wake my fiancé up. I felt soft little paws padding up the bed, and I thought “there’s no way this is Richard!” (Richard was 22lbs at the point of rescue and we’d only had him a couple of months). I felt her whiskers brush my cheek so I kept still so I didn’t frighten her. She licked my tears and then laid on my chest purring. I wasn’t sure if she’d allow pets so I very gently offered her my hand and she nuzzled into it. I understood then that she was asking to be loved and accepted. We stayed like that until I fell asleep and the next morning she was hiding again. Every night for the following two weeks she’d come and sleep on my chest, and eventually she got the courage to come out at dinner time.

We’ve had her around a year and a half now, and she is the most amazing girl. During the day, she doesn’t want to be touched or petted, it is only on her terms and at night when we get into bed so does she for cuddles. She’s no longer terrified, just enjoying her life of luxury. She’s put on a few lbs since we got her, which is a good thing because she was close to starving when authorities found her. She’s such an emotionally intelligent cat and we love her so much. She’s our princess diva, and she rules our two boys (and us) with an iron fist.

We later ended up rescuing another cat called William (Weems or Weemie Meemies) who was funnily enough also pulled from the same shelter as her, and was not adopted or posted about for a few months because he was also scared. He’d monch on hands that came too close, and he’d put his paw out and push you away. His eyes go slightly different ways, and as soon as I saw his picture I sobbed to my fiancé and begged him to drive us there. He did, and Weems is living his best life now! I will make a separate post with some pictures of him because he deserves his own post too.

If you stuck till the end, thank you so much! She’s totally going to eat me for posting unflattering pictures of the queen herself.

Hi all! I hope it’s okay to post here. I’m diabetic due to my pancreas being attacked by my body when I was 19. I’m 28 now and after a lot of begging to be tested, last April I was diagnosed. They tried me on other medications but they did not agree with me.
Having had pancreatitis, I am considered high risk on Mounjaro however after a lot of discussion with both my GP and amazing endocrinologist I decided to go ahead with it. My only stipulation was that I wanted to remain on a low dose. The people I’ve seen get pancreatitis seem to have a common theme of ramping up the doses hard and fast. Obviously there are some exceptions to that, but I wanted to minimise risk as much as possible. I’ve been on 5mg almost the entire time I’ve been on Mounjaro, with the exception of the first month on 2.5mg.

Anyways, I have severe PCOS and have been diagnosed since I was 15. Had a couple of instances of spotting (maybe 4 times in my life) but never anything like an actual period. I’ve been on Mounjaro since last June and have had a lot of success with my weight that seemed to appear out of nowhere when I hit puberty and stayed. I always secretly hoped that it would help my PCOS symptoms, particularly the severe hirsutism but no such luck in that department yet.

Last month, I noticed I was having what I could only assume was a period, but it seemed to only last a day before the colour changed and it was no longer worth using a tampon. I thought it was just a fluke, however today (around 3 weeks later) I felt the most awful sensation and hurried to the bathroom and realised I was bleeding again. It doesn’t look like fresh blood, but then again I have no idea what to expect being that I’ve got to 28 without experiencing this before. With the colour I’m assuming this will be another one of those one or two days and done things, but I’m beginning to think that the Mounjaro is maybe helping my body come into a “normal” rhythm. I was around 18st last April and that was the biggest I’ve been, and I’m now sitting at 14.7st. So it’s helped me a lot!

Lately I’ve seemed to hit a bit of a wall and I’m fluctuating between a couple of lbs up and down each week. I’m honestly not too bothered about the losing weight side of things, I was put on this because my blood sugar was sky high and nothing helped. When I’d be admitted for my severe respiratory problems, they’d prescribe insulin whilst I was an inpatient because with the steroids my blood sugar would go even higher. They also said I have stage 1 of retinopathy but at my yearly checkup that I just had they said it hasn’t progressed whatsoever so I’m really pleased with that!

Sorry for the long story, but what I really want to know is if anyone else has experienced random periods after a complete absence. I know that losing weight plays a part also, but I was nowhere near as big when I was younger, and I still never had any then. My ovaries are shot to bits from cyst ruptures so I don’t know if being a mother is ever something I can manage, but I’m hopeful that things are going in the right direction.

Apologies for the post format, I’m on my phone and the formatting is awful. Thank you in advance, have a great weekend!

Hi all! I hope it’s okay to ask this here. I’m a Brit who has an American fiancé, and I visit a few times a year. He is originally from Larchmont, but moved away from the area for a while so isn’t very familiar with where everything is.

In summer we love to go to Gilgo Beach, but that’s quite a ways away. We’d love to start going walking more, travel time is absolutely fine with us, and check out some more places. The only catch is, I’m disabled and although I can get around okay with a walking stick I need a relatively flat route. I can manage a small hill here and there but nothing steep or for a prolonged period of time.

I thought it would be worth asking the people of Westchester if you have any places you could recommend. We love being in nature, I’m from a very small rural town so city life isn’t my kind of thing. We love lots of greenery and animals, I’ve always wanted to find a small farm that allows visitors, I believe you call them petting zoo’s? We haven’t found one yet but I’m hoping maybe this summer.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions! Have a fantastic summer everyone :)

I was trying to buy a few different bras to try and find some that were comfortable, I ended up meeting the nicest seller ever and later in the conversation I said I really needed some kindness today thank you for giving it to me, and she replied and said here’s a hug from me to you. Made me cry!

It’s so nice to run into lovely people, she even posted them out first thing this morning after I’d told her there’s no rush at all. What a wonderful lady!🥹

Hi all! My fiancé surprised me with a matching Secretlab chair the other day, I may have cried a little after sitting on a horrible chair for years and being so uncomfortable. I have spinal problems so he wants me to be as comfortable as possible while I game. Amazing man, don’t know what I did to deserve him.

Anyways, he’s in America and I’m in the UK so he won’t be assembling it for me so he bought the assembly add on. I’m just really curious how it works, who exactly is assembling it? The random delivery guy or a specific Secretlab tech? And will it be at the time of delivery or does someone come later or something? Sorry for the questions, I’m just trying to work out the specifics. I’m disabled so assembling it myself is out of the question, so he very kindly got the assembly taken care of for me.

I’m really hoping they will bring it upstairs for me into my bedroom, I’m 99% sure it might not fit through the doorframe once assembled, and I have flashbacks to dragging this hunk of junk I’ve had for years through my door lol.

I’m so excited to be comfortable finally! He got me the super comfy armrests like he has too, but those don’t seem to be on the UK site yet, so when I visit next month I’ll just bring those home with me! :)

Picture of my order! I always wanted the exact same as his, I’m so grateful to him.
