After years of hating and hiding, I finally am accepting myself

Since I was 12, I avoided cameras and hated having my picture taken because of my nose. I became so conscious of it that I learned to hide from photos altogether.

I have made progress, I don't deeply hate my nose anymore, but I do still have bad days, where I feel like it takes away from my beauty.

Yesterday, I went into a photobooth and took these photos. This was a positive step in and of itself, because I never would've voluntarily gotten my photo taken before.

When I first saw them, my immediate thought was that I didn’t like them because of my nose. But the more I look at them, the more they’re starting to grow on me.

I don’t want my nose to be the reason I hide from the camera anymore. I want to be able to look at a photo and see more than just the one thing I’ve spent years being insecure about.

These can just be photos. And I can just be me. ❤️

Finally feeling content in my own skin, for the first time🥹

2 weeks ago, I made a post here detailing how insecure I have always been due to my nose. I cried many times because of it. Believe me, the insecurity was brutal, since I was 12 years old- I hated photos of myself and what I saw in the mirror. I believed my nose was so bad that it took away my chance at finding love. I struggled with my confidence very much, always wishing I was prettier😢

After my post, I was truly shocked with the kindness that I received, I unfortunately wasn't able to reply to every supportive message or comment that I received, but please know that each of them have been saved in my phone for me to read if I feel insecure again. Each kind word means more than the world to me, I swear to God❤️

I am so happy to say, I no longer want a nose job, I don't feel like my nose makes me ugly anymore. This is a day which I really never thought would come. For years I truly believed that I was too ugly. From the bottom of my heart, I am so grateful🥺

I have attached the photos that I took on the holiday which I just came back from yesterday. These photos mean a lot to me, because it is the first holiday where I didn't feel like my nose ruined every photo. On my previous holidays, I didn't take photos because I always hated them.

God, I am so grateful to finally have overcame this insecurity which caused me so much distress for years, due to the support I received here. I can't thank you enough, I am so happy

This is an amazing space, with wonderful people. I hope you have a day as lovely as you are🫶🏼🌷

Could anybody please move me closer to the other girl? :)

Hii :)), I (the one in the black) have 2 slight changes that I would love please:

  1. I'd like to be shifted a bit closer to her so we aren't so far apart, with my position and pose remaining the same. Ideally, my shoulder would be by her pinky finger in the pic
  2. I'd like for my hijab colour to be changed from black to another shade which would be most flattering for my skin tone. Ideally, a dusty dark pink/deep mauvey shade. Baby pink is my favourite, but I'm not sure if it'd look nice on my skin tone.

I'd really appreciate it if anybody could do this!!

Thank you sooo much xx

18f how my got heart broken last night :((((

My God it hurts so badly. I found out at 11pm and cried till 7am last night. My thighs and hips were aching very much due to the mental pain (this is a real thing that happens when under alot of stress).

I loved, and appreciated and genuinely cared for him so much, so much, I can't even tell you how much. I loved him for who he was, not for only what he could give or do for me. His happiness was so important to me. He meant so much to me.

Everything was a lie. I was so silly, I cared and loved him so genuinely- but he was tricking me the whole time, he had another girl who he hid from me, and disrespected me on multiple occasions. He lied to me so much. Last night he sent me a video of him and another girl engaging in acts which I won't type. It makes me feel terrible, my heart aches.

Why did he wrong me? Why did he betray me? What did I do except care for, love and respect him? It makes me feel insecure. I know I am a genuine, kind and polite girl. I think my appearance is nice enough too. So why do these things happen to me?

Was I not pretty enough for him or something? What is it about me, I cannot understand. Why did he not value my love? Why did I love and care for him so much? This is such a shame, so sad. I still don't want to see anything bad happen to him.

All I want in my life is real love, and my intention have never been anything but the purest- but people keep hurting or wronging me. I know I am 18, but believe me, I have been hurt alot in my life by others. Still, after each time of being hurt, I never lose hope. I know I deserve better than him, but for God's sake, I am so tired of being hurt. God, I hope I will find real love in my life, soon.

Group for London gap-year girls!! DM if interested xx

Hii lovelies!

So I am organising a little group for girls in London who are doing a gap year/ resitting a levels. I only decided this an hour ago, so there are currently just 4 of us- but the idea is to have weekly meetups (e.g. picnics, going to parks, cute cafes, etc) so that we can support each other through the process, and avoid feeling lonely through the year because in person interaction is soo important

If you are interested, or know somebody who might be, please message me☺️ xx

I think I am finally starting to hate it less

I've hated my appearance everyday for as long as I can remember. My nose has always been my main and biggest insecurity. I've always seen it as huge, and due to it- I've spent years hating what I see in the mirror and camera.

I wouldn't tell others how much I hated my appearance, because I find it embarrassing. I don't think others will understand how upset it has really made me. I couldn't comprehend that anyone could possibly find me pretty, because of how much I thought my nose dominated and ruined my face.

I dreamt of a smaller nose everyday. I truly believed that I was very unattractive, and constantly avoided cameras. I cried many times because of how much I thought I wasn't pretty enough.

I wanted a nose job, but it's against my values and I was really scared of regretting it in the future, also I didn't know how I'd comfort my future children if I had a nose job but they were born with my nose.

For the last week, I have been starting to feel better about it. I'm beginning to feel like it doesn't make me look ugly or horrible, and that there is actually some beauty in it. I'm so glad to be experiencing the beginning of this change, finally.

I have had good days and bad days. Some days, I feel quite pretty with my nose. Some days, I again feel like it really robs me of my beauty.

I hope there will come a time, where I will be pleased with my appearance everyday. I hope it will be soon. Thank you for reading🤍

EDIT: You all are sooo lovely😭😭I am saving all of your sweet comments in my notes app, for me to read when I feel insecure, thank you from the bottom of my heart🥰🥰my faith in humanity is restored

Looking for sunscreen rec please :))

Hi! I am looking for a sunscreen that fits these categories: - I love Korean skincare so a Korean one would be great! But it's a 'want', not a 'need' - between £10-20 - Mineral sunscreen - Non nano zinc oxide - NO WHITE CAST pls! - blocks UVB - SPF50

I currently have the 'Haruharu Wonder Black Rice SPF'. The formula is great, but it has a badddd white cast which makes me look terrible! :((((

Thank you soo much in advance! xx

I didn't cheat, but I'm not sure sure if they thought I did?

Hi guys, please advise me

I had my psych paper 3 last week. I had one hand writing my paper, my other hand was resting on my paper. An invigilator came up to me and asked me to lift my hand from the table. I lifted my hand hesitantly, but I was only hesitant because I didn't understand why she wanted me to.

Then, she looked at my name (on my table), and I saw her walk to and talk to the exams officer, and they were both looking at me. Then, for the rest of the exam, another invigilator was watching me. That was really strange

Then I realised , maybe they thought I had something under my hand, and that I was cheating ? (I had nothing, and I wasn't cheating)

So I thought they will search me after the exam, or say something to me. But, nothing happened

Now, I'm worried that maybe they thought I was cheating, and that I'll get disqualified even though I didn't do anything at all

I got assaulted before my a levels, now I'm going to fail

EDIT: the kind responses mean so much to me😭, thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me through this difficult time❤️I have been getting terrible thoughts that i am the worst person ever for failing, and everyone will hate me, so i REALLY appreciate the kindness. i wish you all the best🙏🏼😊😊

I got assaulted 2 days before my first a level exam, I can't tell anyone about it. I'm not trying to victimise myself, at least I am still alive and I feel like it was likely my fault anyway (it was a big shock to me when I haven't been able to process, due to my exams)

I was predicted AAB, now I'm going to get E's, I'll only get a D if I'm super lucky (I know it because I haven't even been answering the questions in my exams, I just cry in them). Nobody knows what happened and I can't tell anyone. I was meant to go to a top uni, I'm meant to be one of the best students at my sixth form, now I will disappoint everybody, all my teachers and everyone around me, and I'm so so so so extremely terrified of my mum

I feel like my life is completely finished and i dont see any way out

edit: i cant go to the police because i dont want my family to find out (they would probably not believe me, think im exaggerating, judge me etc), also i genuinely feel like it was my fault so i feel like i dont want to upset or betray the man who did it even though im not close to him. also, i dont have any evidence. and im scared to tell safeguarding at school because im sure theyll tell my parents

I am quite sad because I bought a beautiful baby pink dress from a reseller, but it arrived grey ..

The lady who I bought it from, told me that it was originally pink but she put it in the washing machine which is why it is grey (it is meant to be hand-washed). I guess it mixed with something dark, but I want it to be baby pink again.

Please don't tell me that it looks nice in grey. I only wanted it in pink and I'm very sad that it's grey :((

Pleasee tell me what I can do to get it back to pink! Thank you!!

This is the dress: Fairy Lace Elegant Nightgown
