hellooo! for this challenge, the goal is to make a simple, casual outfit using 3 or more pieces from any 5-star set! we all love a good fancy outfit, but more relaxed styling deserves a spotlight too :D

rules:

- you must use three or more pieces from the same 5-star set. this includes small pieces like earrings, but i encourage you to use a variety instead of just tiny accessories!

- you can use high-rarity items from multiple sets so long as at least 3 are from the same one

- include which set you used in your entry title (for example, mine would say "Entry: Keep it Casual (If Someone Loves a Flower)")

- dye and evolutions are very much allowed!! if you use an evolution, please let us know which one in the title or post body :3

for mine, i chose to use the hair, shoes, earrings, and handheld from the new rose 5-star!! i can't wait to see what everyone else uses :D

feels like i always see people swapping out all 7 outfits to match the seasonal theme which is SO fun, but i have this one that literally never leaves slot 1 and i'm curious if anyone else does the same!! if so... show me your permanent outfits 👀

Genre: Platformer

Estimated year of release: Not sure, sometime in the 2010s?

Graphics/art style: I remember it being semi-realistic and at least somewhat dark color-wise. I think some of the liquids had a bit of a glowing effect? It was all 2D.

Notable characters: None, it was just different types of liquid. I remember water, lava, mysterious toxic goop (?) and maybe coffee?

Notable gameplay mechanics: It was a platformer where you would play as different liquids trying to get through various levels. I think that if you lost too much of your mass due to obstacles/falling you would fail automatically? Each of the different liquid types had different mechanics, like the lava would burn things. I don't think there was an end goal besides beating all the levels, and as far as I remember there was no overarching story.

Other details: I've been wanting to remember what this game is called for SO long and it has been haunting me so badly. Every time I try to look it up all I can find is that "Cats are Liquid" game and that isn't it. Apologies if some of the details in the post are a little off, it's been forever since I played it!

IT'S SO SO SO CUTE. i have clothes a bit like this irl and i would loooove to put a similar style on my nikki... but i also really want to save my pulls lol. for my fellow stylists who have it, is it worth it? how does it look from different angles? AAA I CAN'T DECIDE!!!

(also, does the base dress in the 4-star suit - the film themed one - dye well? it looks beautiful but the gradient kind of worries me in terms of dye!)

okay i know this is really specific LMAO but one of the new quests from the update gives you 2 diamonds if you open the gift boxes in a group chat. it's a good punchline since individual diamonds are literally worthless and i wouldn't normally be annoyed by it, but it ruined my nice even number... if i don't even it out again these two diamonds are gonna haunt me forever istg

any advice appreciated!! i need a way to spend these two or get three more. or get eight i suppose

i'm not a huge fan of whispered dreams so i haven't been going out of my way to collect dews recently but i LOVE the new steampunk suit, so i just redeemed about 300 and learned there's a bunch of extra levels with no sketch rewards 😓 i suppose i'll be using the dew tracker on the map for a while...

PSA for any other stylists in a similar situation, be aware that the outfit costs a LOT of dews to get to!! luckily heaven's reach has tons of them lying around :]

i would love a palette like this so much. i always want to dye things nikki pink and i CAN'T </3

i made it palette 01 so it would be available on every item (though obviously it wouldn't replace the current first palette, just move it down). the pink is colorpicked from nikki's hair! i also included black, white, and 2 middle grays to get all of the most important basics in there :D

i can't let the fomo get me though i'm going to draw it instead. infinity nikki × project hail mary anyone??? (imagine how cute momo as rocky would be)

as i'm sure we're all aware, the current wardrobe sorting systems are kinda terrible. item names are more about sounding cool than being descriptive, the official categorizations are all nonsense (why is the cutesy rainbow swimsuit from the next update "sexy?") and therefore useless as filtering tools, and the tags on each item are more about styling contest qualifications than actual sorting. i actually think this is fine from a styling contest perspective, BUT it also means we need an alternate search solution!

i propose: custom tags!

in my opinion, this is the best solution to all the wardrobe filtering woes. it lets everyone cater their searching to exactly their needs - if you want lots of categorization, you can make tags for every shape, style, texture, color, time period, etc. and if you don't, you're free to ignore the system or make simple tags like "favorites" for items you want to be able to find often. they could be differentiated from official tags with some sort of small icon, like the heart i used in the mock-up, or otherwised stylized differently.

the main drawback is the time it would take to individually categorize items, but i think it would be a fair trade-off for the versatility and customizability!! plus i know i would have fun working through my wardrobe and picking out labels lol

that 5 star is not for everyone but i'm OBSESSED. SHE'S SO PRETTYYYY!! ive been saving for SO long and telling myself not to pull unless i really truly loved an outfit and it has 100% paid off, i can't wait to get her!!!!!

ive got like 320 crystals and i want to spend them soo bad but ik it's the fomo talking, i don't even like the banner that much lmao. the evos are very pretty though and i am all for stealing color palletes from them >:]

does anyone else have suggestions for flowery areas to take pictures in? these are in elderwood forest and the swan gazebo!

i love all the pieces individually (except the coat) but i don't think they work together at all lmao. i swapped out the top, skirt, and coat for this dress but kept most of the accessories the same! i think the gingerbread house theme works much better like this :D
