What Are Your “Must Listen” Audiobook Recommendations?

I just found the subreddit and have up until now had trouble picking out new audio books since I have trouble telling how good a book might be just from its page.

So I’d like to ask you for some of your alls favorites. What’s the Hall of Fame harem fantasy books/series that you recommend I check out?

I don’t have any particular ideas in mind for what I’m looking for, but I will say I like where there’s effort in establishing characters personalities and letting characters have a bit of time to interact and show some chemistry rather than rushing from one lewd scene to another.

What Color Archetypes Should I Cut

I would like some advice for my cube. The gist of it is that the cube is themed to be without humans, humanoids, and most concepts of civilization.

Right now it has 10 general archetypes across all 10 color pairs. But I feel like by doing the archetypes in this way I’m limiting the amount of cards and depth each archetype has in cards it could run. I also have to many cards now and the cube got over 360, and cutting it down has been challenging.

Do you think it may be a good idea to cut the enemy/ally pair archetypes to give some more breathing room and flexibility to what cards I can include for the remaining 5 archetypes? And if so, should I cut the enemy or the ally pairs?

How to Auto Attack move

I’m a mouth breathing mostly melee champ locked camera casual. So I don’t have any good concept on how to auto attack move for kiting on ranged characters. Could someone explain to me how it works and what (if anything) in the settings I need to change to get started?

Additionally any video resources or recommendations on way to practice it a bit beg I just start trying it in norms?

I’ve developed the inexplicable urge to learn to play a more traditional ADC and Ashe has been one I’ve enjoyed with how simple she is with her abilities and the fact she has a CC. I’ve played auto filled Smolder, but that’s barely an ADC. So any tips for how to not instantly run down my games would also be nice. I know that spacing and making use of my auto attack rang is important. I’ll try to get a feel for that as I play more games.

And finally are there any YouTube channels or streamers that are ashe mains I could take a peak at to see what good game play looks like?

Novels like Beware of Chicken

I caught up fully on the series and really enjoyed the light hearted vibe in a xianxia world. Are there any others like it? I’m particularly looking for audiobooks since I don’t have time to read that much, but I can listen to them at work.

I’m looking for things that are relatively light hearted to keep my spirits up as I work for a few hours. I’m not very knowledgeable on xianxia books, so I don’t know what else is out there, but I’dlike to hear your recommendation.

Esper (or other colors) Aggro Recommendations

I have a [[Varina, Lich Queen]] that I’ve gotten tired of and am planning to take apart. But that’s mostly because I don’t like how restrictive the need for zombie synergy cards felt for my build of the deck. It made everything start to feel very clunky and take way to long to get going and just generally not super fun for me.

But something that I did really enjoy was the attack trigger on her encouraging me to keep swinging. It was a lot of fun to do some good old fashioned combat with offering trades and not just endlessly building up to a one shot. Chipping in for [[costal piracy]] and similar felt like a lot of fun for me.

So I wanted to ask what other commanders you think can fit that sort of niche? Preferably in the esper color combinations (orzhov, dimir, Azorius included) so I can try to reuse some of the lands and other pieces, but I’m willing to listen to any color combination.

What’s a commander that really likes to get aggressive and isn’t scared to have some attackers die/trade?

The other day I had a great (in my opinion) sort of goofy idea for a really underplayed commander. [[Palladia-Mors, the Ruiner]] as a flicker sticker deck.

The idea being to use flicker effects to generate tickets and then put a bunch of stickers on my big hexproof dragon. Since Palladia is a really good body the deck is mostly interested in giving her abilities and not keywords. Also then you can have the option to flicker Palladia-Mors to dodge board wipes and reset the hexproof, but the stickers stay on her!

What cards do you think would be good additions for this list?

Basic game plan so far:

Turn 1: Maybe ramp or mana/hand fix
Turn 2: sticker guy/ramp
Turn 3: Sticker guy/turtor
Turn 4: etb based engine or repeatable flicker card
Turn 5: Palladia
Turn 6: Palladia or start applying stickers and/or start blinking
Turn 7 and beyond: just keep kitting out Palladia with stickers and taking people out with the big dragon.

I’ve just caught up to my first series after trying out a couple of different ones to get a feel for the genre. I was hoping to get some more suggestions from you all if you’re willing to share.

Favorite series
Beware of Chicken (caught up): really like the world and more interpersonal interaction rather than being super heavy on mechanics or power fantasy. And the comedy was a big plus for me

Dungeon Crawler Carl (finished book 5): Totally love the series. Lots of interesting mystery/reveals to keep me invested while being very well written. Again really liked the combination of comedy and more interpersonal interaction rather depth character cast (not a fan of a flat supporting cast.)

Started and continuing
We Are Legion (We Are Bob): currently listening too. the sci-fi and science concepts go a bit over my head and things are a bit scattered with the Bobs splitting up, but I’m certainly enjoying it. Had a dry spot but things are getting much more interesting with the new groups/character’s he’s in countered.

Started but on hold (might drop or come back to)
Primal Hunter (most of the way through book three): the system and world building are great, but the MC is such an isolationist that I found myself getting tired of his seemingly endless internal monologue about prepping for his next fight. May come back since I’ve heard that a stronger supporting cast comes in later, but IDK.

Fleabag: I think if I push through to the end of book one or into book two I may start really liking it. But it was sort of doing a repeating loop of struggle and grim dark suffering that was starting to lose me. The MC having little to no emotional intelligence was sort of annoying at times, but given they’re a wolf I can’t say I’d expect anything else. I imagine they get a bit more emotional when they break through the language barrier with their elf companion. But I’m not sure. Let me know how if I should keep going!

Mage Tank: purchased, but have not started listening to it.
