I made a friend who brings me gifts?

So, I fed a young bird that was walking around my enclosed garden with neighbours cats. (While the cats were in). It has visited me nearly every day insisting on the live mealworms that i breed. Weirdest thing is. Yesterday, it swooped down and dropped an earthworm in front of me and then flew off. And again twice today! Anybody else experienced 'gifts' outside of corvids? Is this a new thing? Also bird id confirmation welcome. I call him Mr Flaps.
