Cleaning brush?
New to this sub, just got a grill after not having one for decades. What kind of brush is everyone using for cleaning? Some of those bristle free ones are super expensive.

Getting ready to do a drain/fill/filter on the transmission on my 2017 Silverado, just wondering if anyone has used the Wix filter and gasket kit. I know Wix makes great oil filters, but not sure about transmission filters, or their gaskets. This kit is cheaper than just a filter by other brands, so just wondering if anyone else has used them. Thanks.
To start, I don’t know a lot of the technical details about using torrents, I know just enough to accomplish what I want. That said:
I’m using proton VPN (with kill switch turned on) and Qbit bonded to the VPN. I do all my searching through 1337x.
Today when I tried to go to 1337x I got a message that said the developer has blocked my IP. My VPN was on. I got this message once before, and on that occasion I just changed locations on my VPN and it worked fine. I tried that again today and it didn’t work, still said my IP was blocked.
Any ideas?
I know the 6L80 isn’t a very reliable transmission. That said:
I just got a 2017 Z71 with only 36k miles. It runs and drives perfect. BUT once in a while (I’d say 25% of the time) when I’m coming to a stop I can feel the truck downshift, I think it’s 3rd to 2nd, or possibly 2nd to 1st. If I have the radio off I can hear it clunk in also. It’s not super violent, but enough that I noticed it. Everything else is totally normal, very smooth shifts, no slipping, no hesitation etc. Is this just normal for these trucks? I’ve never had a vehicle where I could feel significant downshifts. I did get an extended power train warranty because of the known issues.
FWIW I also thought it might be the AFM going from V4 to V8 or something but I got the range disabler and it’s still doing the clunking.
So I’m already running slightly taller tires (265/70/18 instead of 265/65/18) and just doing that has already knocked my mileage down to 16mpg (corrected for Speedo difference, truck shows 15.5). If I add a 2” (ish) level block in the front, how much more will that kill it?
Just got a 2017 Silverado 1500 with only 36k miles. So far it runs perfectly fine, but I know there’s issues with lifters and transmissions etc. Thinking of getting a power train warranty from GM. I don’t know yet how much it’ll cost or how long it will cover it and that will obviously be a big consideration, but in general do you think it’s worth getting a warranty in this situation?
I have a 2017 with the 5.3, looking at exhaust options. What I *dont* want is super loud, raspy/clappy, and annoying (I’m in my 40’s now, my days of straight pipes are long gone). I just want something that gives it a good deep burble, is a little louder than stock, but most importantly no drone. I was looking into the Borla Touring or possibly the S Type because I had the S type on a Challenger before and I absolutely loved it, and it had no drone, but from the videos I’m watching I’m not too impressed with the Borla sound on the 5.3, so I don’t think I’m going to go Borla. I’ve seen a few videos of the Flowmaster Original 40 series and that sounds really good, but I worry about drone inside the cabin. Open to suggestions.
Book 1 - Troll in the dungeon (thought you outta know)/HRH become lifelong best friends.
Book 2 - Death day party and first basilisk attack.
Book 3 - Sirius attempts to break into Gryffindor common room, slashes the Fat Lady
Book 4 - Harry’s name comes out of the goblet/Harry is chosen as 4th Champion.
Book 5, 6, & 7?
(These minor storylines should not change or have any affect on the rest of the story or plot, they should be more like “deleted scenes”)
So every day my wife goes out and waters her plants on the front porch. This causes me to get multiple notifications on my phone for the doorbell. Most of the time it’s not a big deal and I just ignore it, but once in a while it’s ridiculous, like today we have furniture delivery, so I’m getting a notification like every 10 seconds for half an hour, literally.
Other than turning off notifications in the phone settings, is there a quick disable option in the app that I can just turn off and on with a toggle or something? I looked around but I didn’t see anything.
This is more of just a “huh, that’s weird” post.
I recently bought a 2017 Silverado. Throughout the purchase process, I never bothered looking at the gas cap. After I got it home, I took a look and noticed there wasn’t one. My initial thought was “oh cool it’s one of those capless systems”. It wasn’t until a few days later when I went to fill up that, no, I’m a dumbass and it’s just missing a cap.
But the weird part is that the truck isn’t throwing a code or anything. AFAIK, this is supposed to be a sealed system for the EVAP system, and any leaks (or a loose cap) will cause it to throw a code, and yet the truck is absolutely fine.
And yes, I’m picking up a cap on the way home from work today.
Edit: so apparently it is a capless system and I’m just a double idiot. 🤦🏻♂️. Thanks for the help all.
I recently picked up a 2017 Silverado with the 5.3, and only 35k miles so I want to try to keep the engine healthy as long as possible. I know the school of thought used to be to always get an AFM disabler because it could cause lifter issues etc. I know that the same thing used to be said about the 5.7 Hemi with the MDS, but it seems like as of today more people believe the Hemi tick is due to low volume oil pump, not the MDS. So I’m just wondering if we still think disabling the AFM is worth it. (I will most likely not be putting exhaust on it, but if I do, then I will probably disable the AFM).
