just thrifted this beautiful dollhouse and furniture today, wondering if anyone has any ideas for how i can further decorate and spruce things up! i haven’t had a dollhouse like this since i was a kid, super excited to set up cool scenes :-)

i was super lucky to find a cheryl, who did come with her base yellow plaid dress and shoes, but she has a bunch of markings on her face. best way to remove them? i have acetone, but i only feel comfortable using that on her forehead, i don’t want to mess up her lip paint when i try to remove the staining around the mouth
been waiting ever so patiently in canada, and luna is stocked in my walmart now! i saw the labels for blaze and akiko as well though their dolls aren’t on shelves yet.

i have always loved craft markets, and there’s been a handful of events in my town recently. massive disappointment. half of the booths are selling AI slop, and if they aren’t selling AI slop, their logo and graphics and everything else is still made with it, and i refuse to buy either way.
i go to these markets to buy nice, handcrafted items from real people who actually have a passion for making things, not people who think AI is the path to a scammy quick buck. there were booths with people who actually care, i bought some doll furniture, candles, and woodwork art, but it’s so exhausting to no longer be able to escape AI being used constantly in real life. i live in an anti AI bubble so it feels insane to me when i see people show up to a craft event with literally nothing they made themselves.

my partner and i live in the basement suite of a house, have for nearly a year. our original upstairs neighbour moved a few months ago and the landlords couldn’t find a replacement until about two weeks ago. it has been chaos and bullshit since.
the first day she moved in she screamed at us, despite moving in at 10pm and making far more noise.
the next day my partner went to apologize for the noise and give her his number.
she texted later that night “what the fuck is going on right now.” we were watching tv.
my boss had sent a vacuum to my house for work around this time (i’m a cabin housekeeper) and it went missing. the vacuum was $500. we made a police report. it was around this time we noticed a constant stream of sketchy looking people coming around and staying for days on end. usually was a man and woman, both looking - and i hate to stereotype and be rude - like classic addicts.
the day after, we saw as she came in the yard with a 750ml bottle of whiskey in her hand, start a fire in the firepit, then immediately go back inside. we watched to make sure the fire went out okay, she did not come out until 45 minutes later once it was fully out, and attempted to relight it. she was too drunk and went back inside.
the next day we noticed our lawn chair was missing. we messaged her saying that was ours, not the landlords and to please return it.
she said “oh sorry. my baby’s dad died today so my mom was using it to lay on. i’ll bring it back down.”
we said thank you, there’s no rush, you can just leave it by the stairs if you like
she said “i didn’t take your fucking package if that’s what you’re so pissed about”
she did not bring the chair back and instead we saw it placed on her balcony.
today we heard her screaming at other people in the house, and her baby, who is three months old. mocking him for crying, screaming at him that he is a rotten boy who ‘just wants to be held’ (said as a bad thing), etc. it went on for over an hour and was so vitriolic and hateful, she sounded so unstable, that we felt we needed to call the cops out of fear for the baby. wrong choice i guess.
they did nothing and left almost immediately, and then we heard her scream “those pieces of shit! i should call the cops on them! if they ever make another fucking sound i will!”
the landlords have been on our side throughout this but they don’t feel they have many options. apparently she has spoken to them in the same manner she spoke to us, when they tried to get in contact due to the chair she ignored texts, calls and home visits. she also hasn’t paid rent yet this month. but none of this is actually enough for eviction.
everyone involved seems to be at a loss.
it feels like we have to move because there’s no hope of getting her evicted, but we love this place so much, we have so many squirrel, bunny and bird friends. we put so much effort into these relationships. the squirrels come to the window and ask for nuts, the chipmunks are always in the feed box we have against our window, we have all sorts of feeders and water fountains and set ups for everyone. we put fresh water out every day and ice cubes now that it’s hot. it would feel like abandoning family.
this area of the roof’s lights turns off and on every thirty or so seconds. tried to get a screenshot of it being off but it only lasts less than a second. wondering if this is a glitch because nothing else on the roof is acting this way?
i’ve finished the hello kitty suite, i have doubles of every other rare furniture piece except what i wanted most😭i’ll keep trying but damn i’ve done like 230 pulls lmao
sorry for photo spam, i don’t have anywhere else to post this and i’m really excited! this is my first big pride event i’ve attended, and everyone was so nice! van goth was the chattiest queen and we even came up to her later to talk about canada’s all stars and she let us know paulo was there, so we were able to get a picture with her too! incredibly iconic person. lexi was very conspicuously hitting her dab pen under her booth table in between photos and she said i looked cool, which like i know they compliment people all day long when you’re meeting so many, but it still meant a lot! i’ve never met any type of famous person before, so i was pretty nervous and my partner did most of the talking while i sort of just stood there and went “so great to meet you” lmao
the performances were also killer. johnny absolutely slayed, and it was so fun to see johnny rather than velma since i felt we didn’t see enough of johnny in their season.
i have really bad social anxiety, so while i know the expo wasn’t advertised that well, it worked out well for me! being in a queer space already helped, but it also wasn’t too busy and it was very easy to meet everyone we wanted to meet. i’m sure if this becomes annual it’ll be better next year, with more stuff to do in between performances and whatnot, but regardless i had an absolute blast!!
