Does a low ERMI score apartment even exist??

I swear I've tested about 5 different places on the East Coast and all of them have been Q4 High on the results.

Is it even possible to find an apartment with a low ERMI score (Q1/Q2) ?

Why is the crowd at Public Records so shitty compared to the DJs they feature?

I went to see Toobris the other night at Public Records and left after 10 mins because the crowd was shoving, talking loudly, not dancing.

I guarantee that less than 10% of the people there knew who the DJ was or even liked the music.

It's so unfortunate because they bring in such talented artists.

Can someone start a venue that attracts the same artists but actually curates the crowd and keeps the fucking lights as dim as possible on the dance floor?

Why buy an Electribe Sampler when something like the Digitakt exists?

Before I get flamed - Yes, I owned the Electribe Sampler 2 for five years. I even bought two of them at one point. I recently sold them and switched to a Digitakt and it BLOWS THE ES2 OUT OF THE FUCKING WATER

I know I'm probably going to get down voted to oblivion, but why the fuck do people buy an ES2 when you can get a used digitakt for around the same price?

I spent so long trying to make the ES2 work. The workflow was simple, which is the biggest selling point, but beyond that it just sucks. And it's only in hindsight that I can say it truly sucks for these reasons:

- Awful ringing noise at 13khz - forget adding a compressor to your master output as it will make the noise floor intolerable. Probably fucked up my tinnitus more than anything over the last 5 years.

- 16 "voices" yet the voice stealing makes it like 7 at most. And the voice stealing was unpredictable. Sometimes the pattern loads and you can play all your sounds, other times it cuts off a random one. So fucking annoying.

- No multi-tracking - good luck making a full track with it and mixing in your DAW. Yes you can export all sounds to an ableton file but it is cumbersome and doesn't give you a 1:1 result.

- Such a tiny amount of sample storage space

- The fucking headache it is to get all your samples converted to the right bit rate / depth / mono / file type and still barely have enough space

- the archaic sample management software

- the Amp envelope shaping is abysmal - half the time you can't tell wtf you're doing when you adjust the attack knob, and there's no decay or release anywhere? Maybe I was missing this and never bothered to read the manual but why the fuck does changing the attack also somehow affect the release in some cases?

I'm ranting but seriously, why does anyone settle for that shit when much better samplers exist? Maybe the explanation is you're like me, you just didn't know anything better?

When applying to colleges, dining hall food quality matters more than anything else

People often apply to schools for the professors, academics, party life, prestige, ect. They might consider the dining hall food but don't usually factor that into their decision too heavily.

I believe the food at a college determines everything.

Good food increases morale, gives you energy, sustains your life. Mediocre food gets boring and unappealing very quickly. Shitty food day-after-day can lead to health problems, burnout, and even depression.

Let's break it down further:

- Food > Academics: I'm going to get a degree either way. And I'm probably going to have to learn things on my own anyways outside of the classroom, so I'd much rather do that feeling healthy and satisfied from a nice meal. You learn more than half the shit for a job after you graduate anyways.

- Food > socializing/parties: Have you ever tried to party on an empty or upset stomach due to shitty food options? Also, good dining halls most likely correspond with a solid social atmosphere anyways. Probably hard to seperate the two.

- Food > campus location: If you choose a school that has shitty food but a good location/city, then chances are you'll spend money on food off-campus. Considering most colleges force you to pay for a meal plan, you'll just be wasting money. If you're forced to buy a meal plan, you might as well make it count.

- Food > prestige: Does college prestige really matter anymore? Just get your degree and graduate. Unless you're attending an Ivy League (the food at these schools is great anyways) and trying to work for Apple immediately after graduating, then it doesn't matter where you get your degree. Just try to get it in person at a place with good food. You will be happier.

ULPT: Lie about having kids to your coworkers and manager

If anyone from work asks if you have kids, always say yes even if you don't.

Maybe even offer a fake anecdote about your "toddler" every once in a while.

Why?

- more excuses to be late or leave early

- more acceptance and lenience from managers and coworkers who are also parents

- potentially less likely to be fired if the company thinks you have a family to feed (less likely since corporations don't give a fuck anyways, but you never know)

I'm trying hard to remember this restaurant I ate at a few years ago.

I want to say it was Pleasantville but I can't seem to find it when searching on maps.

It was a small restaurant with a small outdoor patio section and there wasn't much around it. But kind of say on the corner of a intersection, removed from whatever town it was part of.

I had their Mac n Cheese and it was some of the best I've ever had lol.
