Are Lamy still decent pens to start out with? Looking at getting my first fountain pen

hey all,

i thought about getting a fountain pen several years ago but life got in the way and had to focus on other priorities instead of jumping into another hobby.

now that i've been a little better with time i wanted to get back into journaling and getting a nicer pen to start out with.

i've always been to the Lamy Safari and wanted it to be my first fountain pen. In 2026 is that still the best option to go with or should I look into other pens?

What is a good ink to go with that?

I want to keep my budget to around < $80 CAD to start and not sure how much for inks.

For those that got the Cirqa who already have a watch - do you find the handoff / data fine when switching between?

I’m about the pull the trigger on the Cirqa whilst already having a Fenix 7.

Was wondering how the hand off was when switching between the 2 is there any issues or is the data all good when you alternate?

With the Cirqa I plan on only wearing Fenix when running and Cirqa all other occasions

Best wireless headphones to sleep in?

Hello all we are expecting another child and my wife plans to cosleep for the next little while and I am unable to use my wireless earbuds due to the fear of the baby potentially eating them. I'm looking for a pair of headphones that would be ok to sleep in right now i'm using earbuds but wondering if headphones would be alright and no way a baby can eat it.

  • Budget and location - sub $200 in Canada
  • Preferred tonal balance - just good for sleep don't really care too much
  • How the gear will be used - in me beds
  • Past gear experience - I have my own budget audiophile gear but i cant use them to sleep; hd6xx, sundaras, hd25s,

First time multi switch2 owner do we need to buy the games multiple times to play together?

Trying to figure this out but was wondering if it is at all possible to play a game at the same time with 2 different switch consoles.

We have Minecraft as a digital copy but wondering how do we play together if we have to pass around the virtual game card. We have 2 different switches

Any downsides of renewing and obtaining a HELOC?

Hey everyone,

We're up for renewal for our mortgage and a bank is offering us prime - 0.70 but we must get a HELOC attached. They also have a cash back which kind of makes it worth it but not 100% sure if we're missing anything

We've never had a HELOC and wondering if there are any downsides to this?

We are currently with a B lender and hoping to switch to an A lender.

Renewing and getting a HELOC?

Hey everyone,

Our mortgage is up for renewal and I've been shopping around. Currently we have an acceptance from TD with a of Prime - 0.70 BUT we must get a HELOC and the HELOC is prime + 0.5

curious if there's any downsides to getting a mortgage with a HELOC. It's not something we plan on using as we've got funds elsewhere we can access if we are strapped for cash

On the eve of the summer sale ending what’s everyone’s final haul look like?

Curious what everyone came out with especially for new Steam Deck owners.

Trying to also see if I missed anything

Any apps / websites to track progression?

Hello yoyofamily,

I am a new thrower and I’ve been using YoYoTricks to learn some basics but wondering if there were any sites for progression?

I’d like more of a pathway and I can post my own videos too. Is there something like that

Switch or PC [ steam deck ] how do you usually decide which platform to buy a JRPG on?

I'm having a tough time deciding on whether to buy a couple games on Switch or PC.

I have a Steam Deck as well for portability but for longer sessions the Switch is way lighter.

Right now the price is the same for Final Fantasy Tactics and I'm going to play through the trails remakes and is cheaper on Switch right now
