My friend did the nicest thing for me ever and I don’t know how to repay her

I’ve been friends with Emily for about 4 years. We met during the lowest points of our lives and have supported each other ever since. There have been ups and downs and moments of distance but I have supported her through everything and she has done the same for me. About 2 years into our friendship she came into a lot of money, I mean fuck you money, for reasons I will not share but trust me it was well deserved and I’m so proud and happy for her. Even so I always insisted on trading off who pays for dinner or buying my own meals just to really make a point that I don’t want to EVER take advantage of her and her kindness. I take her out for her birthday, try to guide her away from greedy people, help her with moving, and overall just try to be a good friend as I am two years older than her.

Anyways I’m a tired and broke grad student and it was just my birthday. She told me that she wanted to take me on a trip to visit one of the spots in our favorite TV show. This was too much and I immediately said we could go out to the club or for a nice dinner instead in our own city. She insisted that this is something she wanted to do for me and it’s a birthday gift. I was really conflicted because I have watched people use her in action and it makes my blood boil and I’ve always had a hard time accepting gifts or doing things for myself.

Well my boyfriend, family, and Emily convinced me to accept the trip and it was amazing. We had the greatest time and are literally the best travel buddies as we are both go with the flow and super weird together in the best of ways. I have no idea how to thank her or what to do to show her how grateful I am that she would do this for me, wha should I do to show my gratitude??

Sorry I’m new to this thread and I didn’t know that I needed a paragraph so I’m posting again.

This is kind of a long-winded story, but I really need an unbiased opinion because everyone is telling me different things and I don’t know what to do.

I used to have an ex-boyfriend for about a year and officially dating for about six months into our relationship. He ended up cheating on me twice with the same person and she contacted me over Instagram the whole “hey girlie” thing. obviously, I broke up with him immediately, and although we still had the usual intermittent stupid texts after a break up I stopped texting him once I met my current partner and haven’t heard from him or spoken to him in 2 1/2 years.

So now what happened. Last night I was hanging out with my boyfriend and we were laughing and having a great time talking about how much we love each other and how we were best friends. I went to check the time because it was super late and I saw that I had a missed call and the name had a T which was weird because I don’t talk to anyone with the name of a T. Turns out I had his name saved as Terrible person on my phone. I started freaking out and went to go check my texts, and I saw that he had texted me “give me a call when you can!”

I was really confused so I just asked him why and he told me that he wanted to catch up and get coffee with me next Saturday. I just don’t know why he was being so cavalier about the fact that he was talking to me when he had severely hurt me and we haven’t spoken in so long. Also, it’s really not that hard to see how I’m doing. My socials are pretty open and I post a lot about my life because I truly am very happy now.

I asked him why he would want to get coffee with me and he said that he didn’t want anything out of it, but he just wanted to see how I was doing to which I asked him what the point of it would be because literally what would the point be of meeting for coffee? Then he told me to think about it and I asked if he had any specific thing that we needed to discuss.

Through all of this, I was on the phone with my sister and sitting with my partner who was being so supportive as I had literally never opened up about this because we really don’t care about each other‘s past because we had both been in horrible relationships and this was the first good thing that had come into our lives. He really is the best person I’ve ever met.

Anyways he hasn’t responded which in my heart I really don’t care about, but I have severe generalized anxiety disorder and cannot stop thinking about the situation because he literally made me fall apart. He took advantage of my kindness over and over again, and I used to buy everything for him and do everything for him. While we were dating, I started getting acne for the first time, I started losing my hair, and I had lost 30 pounds.

After we broke up, I was very very lost until I met my partner and I’ve been so happy with him for the 2 1/2 years we’ve been together and I genuinely think that he is the one person that I am meant to be with. However, I kind of want to hear what he has to say but even if he apologizes it’s not gonna mean anything to me because I’m never gonna forgive him for how he treated me or what he did. I personally don’t even have anything to say to him, but for some reason, I keep thinking about the reason why he would text me.

So can someone help and tell me am I wrong for feeling this way?

Edit:
I blocked him! Thanks for helping me. I was so stuck and I felt like I was being manipulated all over again. Really my sister and my partner were being so great during the entire thing and they even said that if I wanted to see what he had to say, they would dress up in wigs and hide in the back of the coffee shop and then confront him. But none of that is needed. None of the contact is needed, and I’m never going to speak to him ever again. I didn’t realize that blocking him would really take away most of the anxiety because I feel 100 times better I think the possibility of him contacting me again was making me stew on the fact that he was trying to make my life worse again. Now that he can’t contact me, the anxiety is basically gone.

Hi, I just had a question because I had recently gone up in my dosage with Lamictal and it made me kind of develop a facial tic and I talked to my provider and we decreased it last week and it still hasn’t gone away which I’m not expecting it to go away that quickly, but will it ever go away?
