I’m at the point where I can’t even look at a nurse in a government hospital without feeling a massive wave of resentment thinking they only got in because of connections.

We all spent months, years, actually, grinding, studying for the boards, and trying to build a solid resume, only to realize that none of that matters if you don't have the right "Ninong" or "Tito" in the city hall or someone at the HR.

It’s disgusting how the "backer system" is basically an open secret. You see people with mediocre skills and zero passion landing secure Plantilla items, while other high-performers are stuck in underpaid private roles or jumping through hoops just to get a JO position wasting money and time only to again get trumped by a new board passer who knows someone from inside.

What’s the point of excellence if the system only rewards who you know? I’m tired of hearing "apply ka lang, try mo." Try what? My resume doesn't have a politician's signature on it. Nor do I know anyone high ranking meritorious to become my backer. It’s hard not to be bitter when you’re playing by the rules and losing to people who are just well-connected.
