coming from a third world Muslim country where it’s rllllyyy hard to escape and seeing how ‘easy’ western women have it in terms of not just being more likely to be financially free but also just the ability to roam around your country, wear whatever you want and have laws that will side with you if someone wants to take that freedom away from you is just so hard and I feel so much envy towards them and I ask myself why was is geographical luck so bad : ((

being a woman here is just not it, I get harassed everyday despite forcefully wearing the hijab (since the age of 6) which is so suffocating when you’re atheist/agnostic, and then not being able to travel alone or miss out on all of the opportunities that you got abroad bc your family will disown you if you do anything.

and it gets worse when you see all of your friends leaving, moving out and removing the hijab, building their life aborad etc etc. anyways I just wanted to vent bc I can barely survive and if you’re a woman who has autonomy over her life I hope you never take it for granted bc its so cool
