Just listened to the Greens conference episode from yesterday, and it was clear that the definition of Zionism used by the Greens was different to Jon’s. Lewis’s point on the ambiguity being a potential problem was valid. But Jon just kept on returning to his point incessantly to the point of it being obtuse. So tiring to listen to. I’ve noticed him do this on multiple occasions.

He also doesn’t really seem to make any decent points on his own, it’s like he piggybacks on whatever Emily or Lewis have to say.

For the entire day on and off this absolute nuisance of a sound has been on repeat.

I'm aware the waterfalls may be down to a trickle by this time. If I bring a long a water bottle with filter, will there be places to gather water on most of the classic hiking routes? Streams and such. Thanks!

This is a rather specific question. I’m trans and I go about life mostly ‘passing’ in the sense that I never get misgendered. However I also live abroad in a super trans friendly city normally.

I’ve never been to the US and we see a lot of scary stuff on the news here but it’s hard to know what the day to day is like in somewhere like Yosemite national park. I have a few days booked in Curry to experience being in the beautiful surroundings, but I’m a bit worried about the women’s showers and the likelihood of someone ‘clocking’ and making a huge deal out of it.

Anyone here able to describe what the shower experience is like, whether people tend to keep to themselves, how busy they are in the mid-fall period?

I know Mill Rd bridge is not that far, but the Carter bridge is still the most convenient way to get to the station for many people.

In this heat (to be honest in any heat) it gets dangerously hot in there. Almost a hazard.

Don’t really know what can be done about it, just seems wrong / such a poor design for these sorts of summers that are going to be the new normal.

This year (2026) I realised I should have been filing, so I submitted returns for 2025, 2024, 2023. It’s August so technically past the deadline for 2025, but I had read online there is not relevant if you’re doing Streamlined offshore. However I’ve now come across a comment saying you are supposed to include the extension form if after June.

Not really sure what to do. I don’t have the financial means to speak to a tax advisor.

My financial situation is pretty simple, I used free software to understand the requirements and uses that return as a template for the 3 years.

Sounds like a broken car or motorcycle. Hard to tell if deliberate or not. If so, to whoever it is: get a life? No one thinks you’re cool. Pathetic and attention seeking.

This problem seems to apply to Signal on iOS only. It is clearly not an iOS problem given that none of the other common messaging platforms have this issue.

When notifications are switched off, rather than just acknowledge & move on, Signal will ask you to switch them on, then say “We’ll remind you later” and proceed to ask you to switch them on every time the app is reopened. It’s infuriating and from a quick search, this has been going on for 4+ years.

Is this deliberate behaviour? If so why? If not why can’t Signal fix what should be a trivial bug.

Some of us use Signal mostly for group chats and don’t want notifications, or even an unread badge. Sort it out.

Hello! I've had trouble finding out info on what to do in this situation, would love some advice. I changed my name (including US passport) a while back. I've never lived in the US, and recently realised I need to be filing, so I am looking into the streamlined offshore procedure. All my finances & employment are tied to my current name of course.

I don't know whether I should change my name with social security first, then file (preferred from my standpoint), or if doing it in this order carries the risk they see that I have never filed and give me trouble. Any thoughts, particularly if you've been in my situation before?
