What’s This?

Hoovering out daily and checking chemical levels are balanced but I keep coming out to this brown settlement on the bottom?

It so fine, can’t be hoovered (my hand pool vac just spits it out the other end) and I can’t pick it up either. As soon as it’s touched it disperses. Even tried pushing it all to the filter pump but no joy.

Help migrating Docker containers to external storage

I’d like to move my docker container folders from HDD to SSD after getting regular read write disk contention between Jellyfin and my arr stack operation.

Because I bought a 4300plus my only option is an SSD attached to an external caddy plugged in to the USB C port. I already have it in and use it for transcoding, so what’s the least painful migration path?

My compose files all reference a Volume1/Docker path so assuming at the very least I need the whole folder copying to SSD then all those paths updating?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Can I safely remove this smaller plant without repotting?

I’d like to get this smaller plant out of the pot a bigger monstera is, but said big brother is huge so I’m desperate not to have to do a full repot. Is it possible to carefully remove the soil around it and try to extract?

Help me understand this HouseCurve!

I’ve got an STR-AN1000 with limited options for room correction. I recently purchased house curve on IOS and did a test curve, I’m really not skilled enough to understand the visual despite reading the guides thoroughly. Can someone help me with what I’m seeing here? Explained in layman’s terms and how I could improve it withe EQ on the amp, levels etc?

Help me find a solution to reacting to dogs the other side of fences!

My dog Scarlett is a 2 year old Golden Retriever. Classic bread traits, friendly, loving, social with all dogs, playful etc she’s the best!

For the life of me i can’t train her not to bark at dogs the other side of our fences. Both neighbours (left and right) have barking dogs and whenever she hears them she runs up to the fence, her hair stands on end and she gets loud. The neighbours dogs come up to their side of the fence and they go at it.

I tell her no and she comes away, but next time she hears something she’s straight back. It’s now getting to the stage that she will go to our fence boundary and start barking/provoking.

I just can’t understand it because if I go round with her on a lead and meet said dogs they are fine with each other, bum sniffs, submissive on one side while being playful.

Any ideas on how to make it stick? I have the boundary fences covered with stuff to try and limit it but that’s not sustainable.

Help needed for collapsing Monstera!

I’ve had great growth with my plant this year, 3 massive fenestrated leaves after a repot in the spring, but clearly I’ve not got it supported well. It’s got a 90 degree bend now and all the new leaves are coming off it which pulls it further and further to one side with the weight.

I stupidly put in a cheap support pole from amazon and it’s terrible. What can I do? Do I need to repot it again setting it further toward the back of the pot? What can I buy to better support it? Help!!

Simulate Acoustic Treatment before purchase?

I’ve been chatting to GIK recently and want to take the plunge on about 1500 worth of acoustic panelling to improve my space. It’ll likely be traps in the corner. Some ceiling clouds and panels for initial reflection points, plus a curtain for the bifold.

Before I drop the cash is there anything temporary I can do to simulate the effect and get a sense of how different it might be?

It can be as hacky as required (throwing sheets up, covering windows etc) I’d just like some confidence before I hit buy it now.

Post suggestions if you have them. Thanks.

Community feedback wanted on how to improve my listening space

So ive been slowly commandeering our family room to make it a space that also works for movie nights, gaming and music listening.

Sadly it will never be a dedicated space, the furniture isn't going anywhere, but was else could I do it improve the overall AV experience whilst still allowing the space to look/feel like a "room"?

I've considered sound treatment, better AV and speakers, placement changes etc (yes I know its TV too high I'm taking the fireplace out next) but am struggling to understand what else would make a meaningful difference with the £1-2k I've got in my budget.

The room is 4m by 4m and running a 5.1.2 setup with the MLP is sofa on the back wall.

I've done some basic configuration of the amp and DB levelling, sub crawl (hence its odd placement in the corner), widened the fronts and toed them in. Height speakers are forward of MLP so have speaker tweeters aimed at my head.
