Henrico County is hassling me over my chickens... I've kept a small flock in my yard behind the privacy fence for the last 8 years and share eggs with my neighbors. Apparently they changed the laws and now you need a conditional use permit, which costs $300 to apply for (it's nonrefundable if they deny your permit). Then you need to get a building permit and pay the associated fees to build a coop. If you do navigate all this bullshit, you are permitted 6 chickens.

Expensive goddamned eggs... but seriously, I keep chickens partially because they are my pets and we enjoy time together, and partially because we are trying to provide (and afford) food for ourselves as much as we can.

It really hits home cause we're broke like everyone else and things are looking to get worse before they get better.

I'm just ranting, because I make $16 an hour and a $300 permit is not happening. My girls have prospective homes, but if you do have a dog crate I can borrow to transport them and feel inclined, shoot me a message.

Otherwise, fuck Henrico County for passing a law that makes my desired path in life less achievable.

If you are trying to determine the sex of a plant, take a clone cutting as soon as is practicable. Put it in your cloner under a flower light cycle, it’ll begin showing sex often before it roots. This saves some time/resources in the event you are trying to eliminate male plants.

Yet, if you look past the colorful commercial branding and examine the underlying pharmacological data, a stark, clinical reality emerges: you are looking at a genetic monoculture.

Over the past several years, the commercial cannabis industry has undergone a radical shift driven by capitalism, regulatory loopholes, and consumer manipulation. I have watched the intentional engineering of cannabis drift dangerously far from the plant's therapeutic roots. We have traded the complex, synergistic pharmacology of heritage cannabis for hyper-engineered, one-dimensional products.

The 2018 Farm Bill and THCA Expression

To understand the current state of dispensary cannabis, we must first look to the agricultural and legislative landscape post-2018.
