I know ConEdison screws over everyone, but I’m worried my experience might not be normal. I live in a sunny 1 bed 1 bath apartment - about 650 sqft, but my electricity bill is consistently $350+. We generally turn on lamps at night, but that’s about it. The only thing I can think of is that the AC unit (not a window unit, it’s a wall unit) is constantly turning on and off to maintain a moderately cool temp.

Should I be worried about my bill? Or is this amount normal?

For context I’ve lived here for 3 years and it’s always been this expensive. I think I set up an autopay when I first moved in so the bill kind of goes unnoticed.

My family and I are in a heated debate - did >!Ned and MJ regain their memories at the end!<? Consider the following:

Hey guys I’m sorry for the Wall Street reference but I only mention it because I want to emphasize that the clothes have to LOOK very crisp. My dad is an engineer for a large company but his office culture is much more “wearing a Kohl’s dress shirt is fancy” whereas I’m working for Fortune 50 clients and I have to look a certain way. I’m so sorry if that comes off pompous - I wish I could wear t shirts and basketball shorts to work. That being said….

It’s ridiculous that in 2026 in the heat and humidity men are still expected to wear shirts with collars, tuck those shirts into uncomfortable pants, and then wear a stiff belt further digging into your muffin top as you guzzle down shitty office snacks while getting ass slapped by your bosses.

Where are guys getting their comfortable dress shirts that are soft, breathable, and shape-flattering?

I like wearing an undershirt and I don’t want you to see my ugly ass v neck through my shirt. Charles Tyrwhitt and Suitsupply dress shirts aren’t good enough for this. CT specifically is way too thick and the shirts are cut for 75 year old men. The Rhone commuter dress shirt is surprisingly thin and cheap-looking. Any other ideas?

Also dress pants? Anyone got a stretchy material with a flexible waistband?

I spent $1500 on 100% wool suits from supply and they fucking SUCK. They make me look way fatter than I should. Some $30 Calvin Klein stretchy pants from Amazon fit far better on me. Yes it’s my fault for being in this situation. I’m just trying to get out of it.

BigLaw is tricky enough for “my uncle is a partner at K&E” headasses. It’s a huge adjustment for first gen lawyers who simply aren’t used to all the bullshit unwritten rules in BigLaw. I remember how many times I fucked up and was told off as if I was not wanted there, and it was the worst.

If you still have a heart left in this job, be nice when you can here. It goes a long way (even if they really did fuck up)

EDIT: so many people are being obtuse in the comments lol. This is one of those “if you know, you know” posts. Ask your BIPOC and/or first gen/low income friends and they’ll know what I’m talking about.

U.S.-based Sports fans like me who are DEVASTATED that the LG OLEDs are horrible with televised live sports - rejoice! Take advantage of this moment! The 4K broadcast is incredible on the OLED.

I’ve used the creami for a few years but kind of fell out of love with it after realizing I’ve just never been too happy with it. I add a TON of Splenda to sweeten the mixture. I use a premiere protein shake, extracts, vanilla bean paste, etc. I use an immersion blender to emulsify all the flavors. I’ve used like every recipe from every renowned Ninja creami enthusiast. I understand the lack of butter and fat will cause a deficiency of richness and creaminess, but like this is just not enjoyable. I’d almost rather just drink the protein shake and eat some mix ins on the side. Like there really isn’t any reason for the mixture to taste like cold frozen cream rather than sweet flavorful ice cream.

Anyone have any tips? I’ve noticed the top of the pint is always richer in flavor than the bottom half/edges of the pint. But it’s just not very good.

I have the original ninja creami. I wonder if my machine is just old?

Any ideas? Rental car prices are insane so was hoping to take either Metro North toward Beacon or New Haven and having a rainy day with my spouse exploring cafes, bookstores, and other indoor-friendly sites. We’ve been to Beacon and New Haven, but seems like most other places would suck in the rainy weather.

If we had a car would definitely drive up the Hudson to southern Mass for a day.

Backup plan is Met lol. Could be worse!
