Phone speaker

I'm sat in the waiting room of the dental hospital awaiting restorative surgery.

Bloke near me is watching tiktok on his phone (with sound) ignoring his grandchild.

After a few minutes I say "excuse me, we can all hear that" and he actually turned it off.

Hallelujah!

Is it possible to have put on around 5kg of weight from water retention while cycling abroad?

I'm not long back from a week's cycling holiday in Majorca. Temperature over there was around 40 degrees, wind inland was like a hairdryer (better in the mountains).

Cycled for all 7 days, took a little while to acclimatize, found my climbing legs, all good.

Since getting home I've weighed myself and found I've put on roughly 4-5kg in about 10 days.

Yes we ate while there , but not to excess. We burnt roughly 4k - 4.5k calories per day (overall), so wondered if perhaps the high temperature meant my body kept the liquid? Some days I wouldn't urinate for maybe 10+ hours, and that was while drinking 4+ litres of liquid while out (water with isotonic tablets + cold cans of fizzy pop when we'd stop somewhere).

Back home, did nothing day 1, ran on days 2 and 3 (today). Back home (UK) it's hot right now, but not stupid hot like over there.

Can't think of anything else!

Toenail removal (mine)

I get toenail issues sometimes, usually from marathon training when I've not clipped the nail back enough.

Typically the nail gets injured, goes manky and then a new nail grows underneath the old one. As has happened here.

I have to wait for the new nail to grow (months) before I can pull the old one off. It's almost like it feels glued on.

Also, the smell ...oh lord the smell. 1000 cheeses has nothing on this.

SRAM AXS front mech install guudelin

Hi - received new bike, front mech rubbed chain in 6 of the 12 gears when in big ring (it came this way from the Giant factory / online shop).

I have tried to reinstall this 3-4 tikes now, but I fear one of the issues is that the guidelines you line up with the install tool isn't there on my rival (FD-RIV-E-E1), it's just a gap in the metal.

Image on left is the SRAM video, on the right is my mech (which doesn't have a nice line painted on).

Which part am I supposed to line up with, or do I keep guessing and for the middle?

Thanks!

Quartz hydroconquest

Was in Newcastle today shopping with kids, went to check out the regular HC (39 too small for me), passing Berry's and saw these in the window.

Rival AXS front mech chain rub

Hi. Just been out on new bike for the first proper ride. I've got Rival AXS. The chain rubs against the front mech in 9/12 and down as well as 2/12 and up.

There's no way I can see in the app to mess with the front mech (as per previous post). Am I doing something wrong? This is new so zero chain wear.

I've got home, tried to use the upper adjust screw but doesn't help, in fact in order to get it sorted then chain doesn't rub when in cog 12, the front mech is so far out that the crank arm hits it.

Currently hate this bike!

Rival etas AXS front mech.

Hi - new bike and need some help with the front mech.

First time I’ve had electronic gears and I don’t know how to trim the front mech when it’s in the big ring. The chain rubs slightly on the top 2 cassette sprockets when I’m in the big ring. I’ve searched up the micro adjust on the rear, but can’t find anything for the front. I know there’s the limit screws, but that only helps when in the small chainring or to stop it going too far outwards. This is in between that and no clue how to alter this….is there a way?

Thanks!

HNBD! Defy Advanced Pro 1

HNBD to me! Defy Advanced pro 1, will certainly be different to my old CAAD12 ultegra (mechanical / rim brake) which I've had since 2015.

Not even put pedals on yet, have been getting rid of the myriad of safety stickers and dork disc. Also it's been raining and I'm not getting it wet 😆
