I'm a designer offering freelance work to support wildlife advocacy 🐾

Hey everyone!

I'm a designer by background, and I currently work full-time in animal advocacy, with a particular focus on wildlife-related issues... wildlife rescue, illegal wildlife trade, enforcement, public awareness, and conservation.

I'm opening a few freelance slots to earn some extra income outside my regular work, and I'd love to work with people from the vegan/animal advocacy community.

I can help with:

• Social media posts & carousels
• Posters & flyers
• Instagram graphics
• Presentations / PPT design
• Video thumbnails & basic visual content
• NGO & animal advocacy creatives
• Custom product design for 3D Printing

I've attached my design portfolio so you can see my previous work:

www.behance.net/sahilxverma

I'm keeping my rates reasonable, and I'm happy to take on smaller projects as well.

Whatever amount I earn through these gigs will go towards animal rescue and advocacy work. 🐾

If you have a project in mind, feel free to DM me.

Thank you! ❤️

Seeking Support for Wildlife Field Operations

Hi everyone,

I'm a wildlife and animal welfare worker based in North India, operating across Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali (Punjab).

My work includes:

Investigating illegal captivity of native wildlife and coordinating with the Forest & Wildlife Department for confiscation and rehabilitation.

Assisting the Wildlife Department with rescues and rehabilitation of injured wild birds, especially Black Kites.

Inspecting pet shops, documenting animal welfare violations, and filing complaints with the Animal Husbandry Department and relevant authorities.

Conducting field reconnaissance and monitoring wildlife trade and illegal hunting hotspots.

So far, I've helped confiscate 48 illegally kept wild animals (primarily Indian Parakeets and Black Kites) and assisted in the rescue of 12 injured Black Kites through the Wildlife Department.

I earn enough to cover my personal living expenses, so this isn't a request for income or salary.

What I'm struggling with is fuel.

My work involves constant travel between cities, rescue locations, villages, markets, and field sites. As winter approaches, illegal trapping and hunting of wildlife tends to increase as the forests are covered by fog, meaning I'll be spending even more time on reconnaissance and field visits.

I'm currently learning how to write grant proposals so I can secure long-term funding for field operations. My goal is to become self-sustaining and stop asking individuals for support.

Until then, I'm looking for people who would be willing to help cover my fuel expenses... about USD $100 (approximately ₹8,500) per month.

If you'd like to support my fieldwork, or even just ask questions about what I do, I'd be happy to answer them and provide documentation of my work.

My long-term vision is to make the government do its job. Fix the system.

Thank you for reading. I have added a donation link, and I will be more than happy to share proof of work as well.

Any Xpulse owner in Chandigarh?(Or Tricity)

Hey! I own an Xpulse 210. It's been only two weeks, and I've already ridden my bike over 1,600 km. I work in animal welfare, so I travel long distances. Often 100km a day.

This is my first advanced bike, and I'm looking forward to connecting with other Xpulse owners to share experiences and maybe even off-roading together :).

Is This What Life Is Supposed to Feel Like? What's the Meaning Of Life Even?

I am 23.

A few years ago, I was working a corporate job. The work was stable, the pay was decent, and life was predictable. But looking back, I don't think I was really alive. I was just existing.

Now my life is completely different. I work in animal welfare. Some days start with rescue calls before I've even had breakfast. I've had snakes die in my arms. I've climbed trees to return baby birds to nests. I've spent entire days trying to save animals that never made it. Sometimes I get calls late at night and still have to be at work the next morning.

It's exhausting. It's messy. It's definitely not glamorous.

At the same time, I recently got back into studying Japanese. I've been clearing hundreds of Anki cards every week and slowly rebuilding my memory and language skills. I play games when I get the chance. I spend time learning things. I spend time helping animals.

And honestly, despite how difficult this life is, I like it so much more than the life I had before.

But sometimes I wonder...

Is this all there is? Not in a depressing way. More in a curious way.

I know I am not perfect. There are a lot of things that I need to work on... I am working on it. I just don't know.

You work. You learn. You help others. You pursue hobbies. You improve yourself. You wake up and do it again. And I don't mean that in a negative sense. Honestly, I feel suffocated at times because of cruelty, but I am happy that I am not wasting my life :)

Any vegans here studying Japanese?

Anyone here vegan and studying Japanese(or planning to) by any chance?

I’m learning Japanese again after a long break and trying to rebuild consistency.

Currently around N4 level.

Into animals, rock/metal music, languages and emotionally honest conversations.

would genuinely be nice to have a study partner or just connect with similar people honestly...

[23M] Trying to save animals and maybe find connection too

Hey!

I’m from Chandigarh and currently working in animal welfare/wildlife awareness. Most of my days go into rescue work, awareness drives, dealing with wildlife cases, and honestly just trying to make life a little kinder for animals.

I’m vegan, into rock/metal music (MGK, SOAD, Linkin Park type stuff 😭), emotionally attached to birds, and somehow constantly exhausted but still functioning xD

I spend a lot of time around rescue cases and awareness campaigns, so I guess I’m hoping to connect with someone compassionate and emotionally genuine... even if it starts as friendship.

Would genuinely love to talk to like-minded people :)

I know people hate MGK, but his music helped me through some really hard days

I love MGK. His songs are so expressive.

Just writing this as I remember the time I rescued 5 rabbits and got backlash from my mom and dad for it.

I don’t know… MGK’s music is just calming to me, especially the Tickets to My Downfall album. There hasn’t been a single day that I haven’t listened to his music.

I know a lot of people hate him, but honestly, his songs have helped me through so many hard days.

I just love rock and metal… and MGK somehow sits in this weird space between the two that whispers

“Go to sleep, I’ll see you in my dreams… this changes everything, now I have to set you free.”

MGK, if you ever read this... thank you so much. Your music genuinely helped me keep going.

I miss being a non-vegan.

I miss being a non vegan honestly.

I've been vegan for almost a 1.5 years now. I don't miss the food at all... I miss being a person who wasn't aware of the cruelty happening to animals in so many ways. Going vegan impacted me so hard that I left my design career and working as a full time animal advocate. This work is very exhausting... You have to deal with rescue cases, people who hate animals, and government officers who doesn't want to work.

I've rescued 7 hawks so far in my city. Climate change is so real... 5 of these hawks that I rescued were dehydrated. I miss being a person who wasn't aware. Just a weight of suffering sometimes feels too much.

With each rescue case, a weird stillness comes in, perhaps loneliness I am not sure. I was sleeping today and suddenly I woke up. Half awake I looked at my pillow.. it was brown in colour it reminded me of a hawk that I recently rescued and while I was half awake I said "I hope you are fine" then I realised it's a pillow.

I miss studying japanese too just don't get the time anymore because of the work. Honestly I'll never leave this field or rescuing wild animals even if it takes a huge part of me because animals don't have anyone.

Hey, I’m based in Chandigarh and have been doing animal welfare outreach recently (wildlife awareness, illegal bird trade, etc.).

I was at PU the other day talking to students, and it made me realize I don’t really know many people here who think along similar lines.

I’m vegan and care deeply about animals, but I'm also looking to connect with people who are generally more aware and thoughtful.

I'm not trying to build anything big right now... just genuine conversations, maybe meeting over coffee or joining an outreach sometime.

If you’re from Chandigarh feel free to comment or DM :p

Hey guys!

I’m working in the animal welfare space, and we’re doing an outreach today at Panjab University on issues like cruelty in the dairy industry and veganism.

If any student or anyone nearby would like to join and help, it would be really great! You don’t need to be vegan... You can learn along the way. It’s mostly about talking to people and spreading awareness for animals.

We do these outreach drives regularly, so even if you can’t make it today, feel free to DM me for future ones 😊
