So this is a #wlw situation and my friends encourage me to aske her out!!

Here is the story basically (some info changed bc idk what she does on reddit lmao) :

I (18F, bi) have feelings for my friend/classmate, let’s call her Anne (17F,bi). We’ve gotten really close over the past months and I genuinely can’t tell whether this is just intense friendship or something more.

Some context / things that happened:

She’s very on-and-off sometimes (warm one day, distant the next), but lately she’s been much more consistently affectionate.

We make a LOT of eye contact. Like… prolonged, silent eye contact. Even across crowded rooms.

Multiple times I caught her doing the triangle method (eyes → lips → eyes) while talking to me. I’ve done it too.

When I was putting on lip gloss, she stared at my lips so intensely I genuinely noticed it immediately.

Physical closeness is also… a lot:

She lets me lie on her lap.

I play with her hair.

She leans really close when we talk or laugh.

She often stands/sits in my personal space and doesn’t pull away.

She loovees resting her chin on my head (she is taller lol) 

She’s touched my back, knee, etc. naturally without awkwardness.

Once I almost lost balance while writing standing up and she instinctively caught me by my knee and back.

Some moments that really messed with my head:

She was crying one day. I hugged her multiple times, and after that it felt like something shifted between us — she became way more physically affectionate.

Another day we were talking after work. We ended up standing ~10 cm apart, just looking at each other in silence. She seemed completely calm and comfortable. And a mutual friend came in and we kinda jumped apart? Like we actually took a step back when she came in xd

We sometimes hold hands randomly, like I pput my hand up for a high five and she holds my hand.

One day her heart rate went up and she literally told me: “Touch my heart”, so I put my hand on her chest and felt it.

She also says / does stuff that feels… flirty?

Examples:

I joked about wanting a “terrifyingly sexy waitress” (she’s one) and she replied: “Of course. You already have one.” (btw rhis is a reference to a book xd)

I told her she looks really fucking good, and instead of just saying thanks she asked: “Back then or now?”

She laughs at tiny things I say and once said “I love that” about the way I pronounce certain words.

She also makes VERY inapproproate jokes, which I don't mind but she stopped those a few months ago so idk what happened there lol

Jealousy(?):

When another girl hugged me from the side, I noticed Anne kind of freeze and act weird after.

When I mentioned making out with a guy, she stared at the floor and seemed off.

Outside school:

She asked what my favourite book was bc she was bored and wanted to read it online.

She often texts me random things that honestly feel like excuses to talk.

She liked only my story even though several people posted the same ones, and they are also very close friends of hers.

Other people notice things too:

Two of my friends think I have a decent chance with her.

Some of her friends have joked about us getting married / “cheating on Anne,” etc.

I’ve caught her friends looking at us and smiling.

But then sometimes she’s dry over text or randomly distant, which confuses me a lot.

 She has also called me adorable, and made me random drawimgs on post-its.

So…

Does this sound like romantic tension / mutual attraction, or could this still realistically be just intense friendship and I’m reading way too much into it?

TL;DR: My girl friend (importamt, we are not dating YET) acts weirdly intimate with me and there’s a lot of tension, but I can’t tell if she likes me or if I’m delusional. 😭
