Looking for a reasonably-priced oil change in southeast Portland/burbs, where they check fluids, etc.
There's a Jiffy Lube near me, but maybe there's something better.
See System76 home page.
Lemur Pro will have 14" and 16" versions, RAM fixed at 32Gb.
Some years ago, I had heard that bike mechanics use hairspray to keep handlebar grips in place. And, sure enough, when I tried that when replacing some grips, they kept their position.
Now, the seat tube extender on my Dahon folder has been slipping recently. So I thought I'd try using hairspray to keep it in place. I bought some White Rain hairspray and applied it to the extender. But the extender keeps slipping. Oh, and I applied the White Rain to the handlebars and reseated the grips, and they're turning pretty freely.
I'm thinking that I just got a brand of hairspray that doesn't work well for this purpose. Is there a better brand? Or is there some other sticky stuff that will help?
I installed the latest version of VMWare Workstation Pro (25H2u1) and installed Windows 11 Pro on an ancient (c. 2010) desktop. The host OS is Linux Mint 22.3.
When I try to power up Windows, I get the dreaded "processor does not support XSAVE" error.
It looks like I can avoid that problem by installing an older version of Workstation, and that this issue started with version 17.5. On the Broadcom website, the oldest version to download is 17.5.2 or so.
Where I can download a bonafide 17.0 version, or if necessary, a 16.x version?
DDR3 RAM for desktop (240-pin) (2 sets):
- 8 Gb (4 x 2 Gb) Corsair 1333 MHz, non-ECC RAM (asking $18). Was working great before upgrading PC.
- 32 Gb (4 x 8 Gb) Timetec 1600 MHz, non-ECC RAM (asking $67). This is a like-new item (after purchase, discovered my old LGA1156 motherboard will only support 16 Gb)
EVGA 550W power supply, model: SuperNOVA 550 GA, 80 Plus Gold (asking $85) (like new; I thought old power supply had failed, but was fine; so box opened, but never installed or used)
