Is this Bio-Data format (given by teacher) good enough? If not, could anyone give me a better one?

  1. Name

  2. DOB

  3. Gender

  4. Father's name

  5. Address

  6. Marital Status

  7. Educational Qualification

  8. Experience

  9. Languages known

  10. Hobbies

  11. Reference

I feel like Marital Status, Hobby etc are outdated. But our teacher reduces marks for anyone who doesn't include these in school exam. Since skills are also to be avoided, I feel like there is nothing important in this format.

Confusion on the usage of 'may be' in official documents

I was reading a document on recent transfers of a department when I noticed that it was written "This person may be transferred to ____ department." I know 'may be' is used for uncertain situations. The action however, is certain, because everything is fixed. Is this gramatically correct?

Strategy for Physics?

So far we have done the first 7 chapters and I was just looking through PYQ when I realised I can't solve a single question. Our teacher isn't that bad, but she doesn't really teach/give questions beyond derivations and NCERT questions. How do I start practicing, and which all books should I use?

What are some tips for making an efficient study schedule/to do list?

Been having no motivation to study because everything is so cluttered, don't know what to prioritise etc. I have an idea about what I want to do but I can't seem to implement that into my daily life. On top of that, if I do make a to do list based on priority, most of the time, I will do something with practically no importance. How do I make something that I will be more inclined to follow?

What cards are good for memorising a text book word by word?

Really new to Anki. The thing is, our biology exam is strictly according to our textbook. While I do have the physical book, its a lot unstructured and hard to read. I wouldn't say the syllabus is vast, but I do have to complete the book to get better marks. Would splitting the topics into cloze cards (or any other) be a good idea? If yes, in what way can I use them? I am not bad at memorisation but I was just thinking of this because I have other subjects to focus on and spaced repetition could help.

Videos keep running back

I have this old Windows 11 Dell laptop that I use primarily for school work, maybe only thrice a week. It functions normally, I believe. Anyways, I have been noticing something while watching lectures on the browser for a while but it only aggravated this month. Basically, videos automatically run back to the start and it resolves only for a few minutes after I press any key. I saw the same thing with pdfs (scrolls up) and text/search boxes (cursor moves to the first word.)

I first noticed this for a week last year (when I actually started using it a bit more frequently) but it just miraculously went away that I forgot this issue was even there. But now, I can't even sit through a 2 minute video before it runs back.

Really hopeless with tech tbh, so I have no clue about what's going on.

How can you strictly monitor your own screentime?

Made a post earlier but haven't really gotten a proper response. I only need to use my phone for messaging apps since I do all my work on my laptop. Tried gray scale, app blockers, minimalist screen etc, nothing worked. Also tried to compensate for the time by picking up hobbies which also, proved unsuccessful. I usually bypass any blocks I make, so how do I stick to the plan? I don't really have anyone reliable to be strict towards me either so I'm lost.

How useful is NCERT for the exam?

Probably a stupid way to put it but yes, I know NCERT is the most important esp for bio, but I don't know to what extent (heard some say min 300 marks) My online coaching isn't that interactive so they rarely give strategies apart from the lectures and okayish materials. I don't think NCERT is much useful for phy as long as the concepts are clear.

Mostly confused about chemistry though. Heard its good enough for inorganic, so how good is it for organic and physical as well? My notes aren't that good to be fair, so I want to know which all parts strictly NCERT is enough.

Also are those Master the NCERT type of books reliable (like without change of wordings and all diagrams) if I find the textbook a lot more cluttered?

I hate not having a clear goal for studying and its stressing me out [DISCUSSION]

Going to be a slight rant. Currently in final year high school. I lived pretty comfortably and never really felt the burning need to study, but I still do and usually ends up top 3 or 5 in class. No ambition, nothing. Just that 'exams are nearing, so I gotta lock in'.

Chose a science + math course for HS to prepare for university entrance exams which are a rat's race here and my family wants me to try them. And since I never really had a goal, I was onboard with it, until days started ticking and I practically have only a year to prepare for it, on top of my final year exams with constant classes at school.

The entrance exams here are practically impossible because of the sheer amount of people trying them and its deterring me more and more. Then comes my classmates, who used to be behind me in studies, suddenly acing exams. The entrance exam isn't what I wanted but here, all other options are a hit or miss so its regarded as the 'safe option'. I really want to know if I can finally get the motivation to prepare for it.

Studying is all I've ever done and for it to be out of my grasps is a horrible feeling. I have no problems trying to ace the final year exams but when its the entrance exam, I just stop studying. Topping these finals don't contribute anything to university apart from signing up for normal degree programs. So I'm kind of in a dilemma. My family is pretty chill regarding studies and wouldn't really mind if I chose a different career path after trying the entrance exam out so the lack of pressure is another thing. Would like it if anyone could advice me on this though.

What are the subject-specific strategies that worked for you during boards preparation?

12th PCMBE student here. Really stressed at the moment with back to back entrance coaching and school exams. Could anyone give proper strategies to attain good marks without fussing over it last minute? As in what resources we NEED for each subject, and how to best preparation, imp topics etc.

(Would prefer if responses are in English)

Quite picky but I'm looking for comedy recs based on what I like/dislike

Made a similar post earlier but decided to make a better one. I read almost every genre but I love comedy more than anything. I'm not really fond of harem/ecchi/isekai with a repeated plot.

Stuff I liked:

  • Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun
  • Sakamoto desu ga?
  • Gokushufudou
  • Angel denetsu
  • Ki sisters
  • Love advice from the great duke of hell

I didn't like:

  • Gintama
  • Saiki K
  • Wotakoi
  • Kaguya-sama Love Is War
  • Nichijou
  • Grand Blue
  • Greatest Estate Developer

I can't figure out what my sense of humor is like so pardon me if I seem really weird lol. Have been kind of desperate for new reads after re-reading most of the ones I liked.

Could anyone give me good comedy recs?

I don't mind the other genres as long as there is enough comedy. Not really a fan of those ecchi, harem manga tbh and somehow couldn't really get to like popular mangas like Nichijou, Gintama, Grand Blue. I don't like very stereotypical rom-coms either.

Some I liked: Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun, Gokushufudou, Sakamoto desu ga?, Angel Denetsu, Love Advice from the Great duke of hell (webtoon)
