All of my EBT $$ was stolen on Saturday, an hour after I bought groceries

Over $300, plus then because I didn't know this, my deposit was made to me for July and that was stolen as well. I can see a list of the stores in Rockland County, NY, where my $$ was spent. This is a NY EBT Card.

All because I forgot to lock it minutes after ordering grocery delivery.

Is there any way to fix this or do I just starve till August, (Yes, I have reported and deactivated the card, with a new card coming. There was no option to speak with a human being.)

Barely supervised kids on sidewalks on scooters and bikes

Help me out here.

I live on a block that looks calm, but is a bus, ambulance, and emergency route. Cars go fast. This morning I went for a walk (I live midway on the block) and two small children, one on a bike and one on a scooter, were barreling down the sidewalk toward me. Their parents were near the corner, half a block away. The kids are weaving, stopping and starting, and to keep myself from getting hit by them I had to first hop on a stoop, then step into the street.

When I reached their parents, I (more snidely than I should have) suggested they keep their kids closer, that their kids could trip on a sidewalk or, actually, hit me. (Please trust me that I would not have been nice.) Or get snatched, heaven forbid, I wouldn't let my dog this far away from my sight, but I digress. The father got very angry, parroting what I said, saying he'd tell his kids just that, that he was a dangerous father.

And he was. Kids are a joy in this neighborhood, hearing them laugh and sing and play, I love living here, .What I don't love it having to dodge kids on scooters/bikes whose parents are too busy or bothered to watch out for them. Why are so many parents doing this? Half a block away is not safe.

Dyeing with Procian Dyes

I’ve been watching this fashion designer on Insta, “imp_of_the_perverse” creating this amazing colors with something called Procian Dyes. He uses just a couple of tablespoons per garment, and they’re gorgeous.

If I wanted to buy some, I’m seeing 2oz or a pint, no idea what that covers. Anyone use these?b

Need some throwing guidance for tall vessels

I’m a decent thrower when the piece is small enough the be able to loop my thumbs together. But I have a small (inconsequential) tremor in my right hand, so when a piece gets larger and I can’t “loop” I lose the ability to pull both sides evenly and smoothly.

Certainly, people with more serious disabilities like this, are able to command larger pieces. I’m certain there’s a skill or trick I don’t know and perhaps someone here does? It would be nice to make a vase…🏺

Which carving tool?

Am wanting to make a small splurge on a thin carving tool. The Diamondcore look fancy, the Buschcraft a little less pricey. What do people prefer?

They’re cone 10 porcelain, Laguna. I put a sheet of paper on top of each as I finish throwing, use bats for each. But they are elongating… painted with underglaze, commercial cone 10 clear. They’re ovals and they didn’t start that way. ideas?
