My single section propagation is growing!

My cactus went through for a rough phase for a while where it was dropping lots of sections (it’s doing better now). I tried propagating almost every section out of the 10 or so that it dropped, and this is the only one that didn’t go bad during the propagation process and it sprouted tiny roots. I put it in its own tiny terracotta pot and now I noticed these new grow points after about a month! So exciting

Is this yellowing leaf cause for concern?

I went to water my golden pothos today and noticed this yellow leaf on what seems to be an otherwise happy plant. It’s one of the the oldest leaves that it had when I first got it so I’m not sure if this is part of a life cycle for old leaves to die off or it’s a sign of something more serious. It’s the only leaf I can see that’s yellowing like this and it’s still putting out new growth.

Thanks!

Brown / yellow spots on old leaf

I got a decent sized monstera cutting back in February and have been trying my best to care for it since then. It had a decent amount of mechanical damage and what I believe to be some existing sun stress when I got it. Recently these spots of yellowing and browning have appeared on the tip of one of the older leaves. The first pic is the most recent and the second was a few days ago. I recently transitioned this to a grow light but the spot was beginning to appear even before that so I’m not sure what’s going on. My best guess would be overwatering as the pot doesn’t have ideal drainage or light stress from the new grow light. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Watering: I water it when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry like I’ve always seen recommended for monsteras. I try to be very mindful of not over watering as the pot doesn’t have ideal drainage. I will fertilize at ~half strength of the directions pretty much every watering.

Soil: 50/50 worm castings and orchid bark. Will add some perlite when i repot it next .

Lighting: recently transitioned it to a barina t10 in my office to keep it away from kitties who like to mess with emerging leaves. The troubled leaf is the closest to the light and it’s about 18 inches away. I have it scheduled for 10 hours of light a day, and I’m planning on ramping it up to 12-14 hours over the next few weeks but I’ve been progressing very slowly to try and minimize shock as it’s not used to the grow light.

Pot: It was propagating in water when I first got it but I potted it in a decorative pot that only has one drainage hole in the middle and the saucer is permanently attached to it. Im heavily debating repotting because I worry that I’ll never be able to get it out of the pot if I leave it for too long. I really want to move it to a new pot with more drainage and add some perlite to the soil, but it’s only been 2-3 months since I potted it and I don’t want to stress it too much.

Support: I have a crappy plastic garden stick with Velcro supporting it. When I repot I will switch it out for a cedar plank.

Unexpectedly picked up a birkin from the grocery store, will it do ok in this lighting?

I’ve been looking for a plant to go in my room and when I saw this at the store I impulse bought it. This window gets fairly direct sunlight for about 6 hours from mid day into the evening. Well it do ok with so much light?

It looks pretty healthy so I’m trying to keep it looking good. I refreshed the soil into a very chunky mix and it had no root rot. It might have benefited from a small pot upsize but I didn’t have one on hand so I kept it in the same one but it has plenty of drainage.

Any general care tips on these guys? Thanks!

New leaf is curling up

My philodendron unfurled a new leaf this week but now it’s all curled up. The other leaves also curl at the tips but not this bad. Is this a sign it’s thirsty? I’m wondering if I might need to replace the soil with something that retain water a little better as I feel this one drys out really fast

So this McColleys Finale (?) has been my first house plant and I am definitely making beginner mistakes with it. When I first got it the plant shop potted it in potting soil for me and it seemed to be happy and was putting out new leaves consistently for about 10 months. Almost 6 weeks ago I changed the soil to a mix of perlite, orchid bark, and worm castings as well as added a stake because it was starting to lean. Since then its growth has pretty much stopped. It still looks pretty happy, but not seeing it grow like it used to is stressing me out. I’m not super surprised by this as I’m sure the root system is just recovering from shock but now I have 3 questions:

The tips of the leaves are pretty consistently curly. They’re not brown and crispy, just curled up. Is this a sign of underwatering? I haven’t changed my watering habits since I changed the soil so I’m guessing I may need to water more frequently since it no longer holds on to nearly as much water. I check the soil with a moisture meter every weekend and if it says it’s dry I’ll water. If not I wait 2-3 days and check again. Since changing the soil it’s always been dry when I check on Friday or Saturday.

When changing the soil I buried the stem too deep and have had 2 leaves turn yellow and fall off. Last week I went in and basically repotted it again to try and readjust It so the petioles aren’t buried. Today while watering i noticed a third leaf is turning yellow and there’s another leaf about the same distance from the soil that looks like it’s at risk. I don’t like disturbing the roots if I can help it, but should I try and repot a third time to try and prevent the last leaf from rotting?

Lastly I’m clueless about fertilizer. My girlfriend got some “we the wild growth concentrate” which looks like it’s basically just nitrogen and phosphate. When / how often should I fertilize? I’ve heard not to fertilize after changing soil, is that true? If so how long should I wait after changing? Any basic advice on fertilizing would be greatly appreciated!

Just got this guy and I’m wondering if its pot is too big. If I get it a new pot I would change it to a better draining soil as well, but if it doesn’t need a repot should I refresh the soil anyways?
