Picture quality of NFL games on P+

What's your impression of the video quality of live NFL games streamed over Paramount+? For me, it's kind of a letdown compared to games on Amazon or Peacock. The games streamed on P+ look very compressed. I don't know if P+ is giving me a local station's feed (KEYE-42, Austin) or if it's a direct stream from CBS national, but in either case it's not really any crisper than watching the games on KEYE over Youtube TV. KEYE's picture quality is lousy because of all the subchannels they air, the motion artifacts and compression make NFL games look like mush. I was hoping P+ would provide more of a full quality feed from a better source.

Thanks for any feedback!

New fiber service, question re: BGW620 wifi channel settings

Yesterday I had my old VDSL Internet 50 upgraded to Internet 300 on fiber. I was expecting a BGW320, but for some reason the technician gave me a BGW620, which I gather is an upgrade. I'm not using any extenders or "extra" wifi gear.

The install went really well, but late last night (~1 AM) after about 12 hours of uptime, I had a brief 5-10 minute outage while the gateway reset for some reason. Hopefully just a software update or a first-day glitch. Outages on my old copper VDSL were rare and I hope this will be at least as reliable.

Which brings me to my question(s): I have one old device which is only compatible with a limited range of channels on 5 ghz, and even within the compatible channels I don't think it likes when the channel changes. The automatic channel settings on the BWG620 don't work for it (unless i put the device on 2.4).

From doing some googling, I found posts saying AT&T fiber gateways don't allow manual channel assignments on 5 ghz. But in my advanced wifi settings, there is a setting that appears to let the user control channel assignments. I don't know if this is a recent change to the software, or if the manual settings even work. I seem to have v. 5.39.7 based on the gateway control page, but the SHM app says v 5.33.5 so I don't know why those don't agree on the firmware version.

But before I made any changes I wanted to ask if it was "safe" to monkey around with the advanced settings (specifically the manual channel controls for the 5 ghz band). Last thing I want is to "break" something. Thanks for any feedback.

"Mandatory" upgrade to fiber? (from VDSL Internet 50)

For something like ten years, I've been on old Internet 50, which is still working well. For my needs, 50 megabit is "fast enough," although 4K streaming can be a little iffy depending on the streaming service.

AT&T just brought fiber to my neighborhood, and is starting to do installs. While fiber is obviously much better in theory, I was hoping to sit back for a while and see what my neighbors on fiber say about the reliability and consistency of performance. That's more important to me than raw speed. I used to have cable internet which on paper was faster than my current AT&T service, but it was so variable and unreliable I switched to AT&T.

Today I received an email apparently from AT&T informing me that my Internet 50 service will be terminated in about six weeks, and that I must move to fiber to maintain service. So much for the wait-and-see approach. Is this kind of "mandatory service change" common for AT&T once fiber goes into a new service area?

I'm currently paying something like $60/mo for "Internet 50" -- what would be a reasonable deal for the 300 mbit or 1 gig fiber plans? Any chance I could lower my net monthly cost?

Thanks for feedback!

Questions about '26 RDX--ride, ease of entry/exit

Until now, I've always driven sporty cars, but I've developed age & health issues that make it difficult to live with a low-slung coupe with bucket seats. Ride comfort has also become a priority. So for the first time in my life, I'm looking at compact and midsize crossovers and SUVs, and the RDX looks like a good value that maintains some sporting feel. I've browsed the Acura website and read some reviews, but hoping for more direct feedback from owners on a couple of points:

First, is there any real difference in the suspension, steering, brakes, etc. between the Technology package model and the A-Spec package model? Kinda seems like the A-Spec is mainly an appearance/interior package, except for 20" wheels and wider tires.

I read at least one review that suggested the ride on the RDX is on the firm side, at least compared to a Lincoln Corsair or a Genesis (GV70). How is ride comfort over harsh bumps?

The adaptive damping is standard on the higher trim RDX models, but not separately available on the lower trim models. Does it make a big difference in ride quality?

Finally, how easy is entry/exit with the RDX? I'm finding that aggressive bolsters and a low seating position don't work for me anymore...

Thanks for any feedback!

What happened to the Panasonic Arc4 and Arc3 lines?

I think my favorite electric razor (in my 40 years of using them) was an Arc4 I bought in 2022, at least in terms of shaving performance. About a year ago I had to replace it with an Arc3 (ES-LL41-K) which is OK but doesn't shave me as close as the Arc4 did.

But looking at Panasonic's current product line, it just seems poor in the midrange and lower end products. Where is the "good but won't break the bank" shaver in the $100-140 range? The Arc5 is much bigger than I want, both in terms of physical size and cost. It just feels like Panasonic isn't making much of an effort anymore in the market below the Arc5.

Maybe I should buy another ES-LL41-K, I'm not sure how much longer that will be in production.

Help w/ "Action needed" email for Dark Star APN settings

It's great that we have this forum as a resource, and I'm hoping someone here can help with the following issue. Last week I received the "Action Needed" email with instructions to change APN settings for Dark Star. For background, I'm on Unlimited Starter, running on a Pixel 9 I bought new from US Mobile last July. I'm using a physical Dark Star SIM card that US Mobile sent me back then. I'm running Android 16 (phone came with 15).

So, I find the APN settings on my phone (which are, for some reason, under the "SIMS' tab not the Internet tab). I just mention that in case it's significant.

When I try to edit or create a new APN with the "new" settings, there is no setting available for "MCC" or "MNC." Those parameters just aren't in the settings, so no values can be entered. My original APN doesn't list those settings either.

If I do a Google search, I can find quite a few posts from people on various service providers with a similar complaint, that their Pixel 9 phone will not allow them to access settings for MNC or MCC. But I found no resolution.

If it's relevant, the ICCID for this sim seems to start with "8901280," and I think the 280 part is the MNC for AT&T.

Obviously I need to maintain data service--what should I do? What specifically about the "old" settings will cause data service to stop working at the end of the month? Thanks for any help.
