In your opinion, what is the smartest/“easiest” method of tapering (Ashton, liquid, etc.)?

Psychiatrist appointment in two weeks and going to try to slowly lower this 1mg Klonopin for 15 months with as little of pain as possible. My psychiatrist is up for whatever and open to suggestions so I would like some kind of game-plan going in. I’m curious what’s worked or hasn’t worked, how many mg at a time, whatever you have to offer as suggestion.

Asking if I was a good fit and told “well we have to meet as a team but it was VERY NICE to meet you.”

Fuck I’m so tired of this. 31 applications (not many more options in my area for this field), only 3 interviews, this being the third.

Know some people have sent out hundreds of applications but this shit is so demoralizing. Starting to feel like my degree was a waste.

If you split once daily dosing into twice, how does the medication not lose effectiveness?

I’ve talked to a prescriber at different times about splitting Klonopin 1mg once a day to .5 twice a day and Lamictal 100mg once a day to 50mg twice a day. I guess my question is if you take both of those in one dose, doesn’t the overall peak blood level from the single dose make it effective, or does the blood level over 24 hours matter more. I was thinking in terms of something like seizures- would the body not notice a massive drop of .5mg Klonopin over the course of a few days at its expected time?

I apologize as if this comes off as trying to answer my own question. I have a weird habit of explaining things like I know them when I’m really just trying to work out how to ask about it in my head haha. I’m truly deferring to the professionals here.

Any answers or clarity on this would be much appreciated. Pharmacology is confusing.

In her book Practical Myticism, Evelyn Underhill calls this “Active Contemplation,” which is to be balanced with “Recollection” (interior looking). I was wondering if this is in any other traditions? I believe she was coming from a Christian mystic perspective but it’s an interesting take on meditating to me. Very similar to Martin Buber’s I-Thou vs. I-It. Giving yourself over to the object and entering into communion with it in some way.

100mg was working beautifully for me at night but causing insomnia. I decided to switch to noon instead during the day. This was 3 days ago and I’m starting to feel a bit depressed again. I do not wanna go back there. Is this normal and a passing thing while I adjust?

Ten minutes in: this is cheesy as hell and the way horror films have evolved is crazy.

Ninety minutes in: what.the.fuck.was.that.

I had blinking tics as a kid where I’d open my eyes as wide as I could etc. and was diagnosed then. My tics largely disappeared for like twenty years and flared wayyy the hell up in my mid 20s.

The one that drives me mad (pun intended) is say I’m sitting playing on my phone, all the sudden I’ll have to start feeling around it with my finger. It feels like phantom hand or something haha. I’ll trace all around the rim and keyboard. I’ve almost sent out random things to people or open random apps from it. It is extremely agitating. It doesn’t necessarily feel like a “just right” sensation but like my body gets away from me and the energy is channeled through my hands. Bizarre stuff.

Can anyone relate?
