I love Halogram
Aside from being a great tool to showcase character progression, since even John comments that version of him is a lot nicer, it's also really creative in my opinion and comic accurate.
It's a nice addition to the ring's functionalities that it can literally store a consciousness. So it doesn't only function as a weapon but also as a hard drive.
And I saw some people commenting that they thought the ring could only conjure up green things, and I immediately remembered Emerald Dawn II, a Hal Jordan origin story where Sinestro does exactly that: makes a non-green clone of Hal and he stays there while they leave the planet.
So since the ring doesn't even need to be close to the construct, it's acceptable that Halogram was in Rushville watching it this whole time, far away from the ring itself. I just don't know if the comics ever made a sentient construct like Halogram, but if they didn't, to me that's a positive creative liberty the show took.
