Anyone have accommodation with Livus

I’m starting a degree at this Winter and trying to sort out accommodation from overseas before I arrive. I finally got an offer for a one room flat with the Livus group (the name of the housing provider). The building is in a good location but I couldn’t find many reviews for the group online. The few reviews I managed to find were quite bad but that could point to one or two people having a horrible experience and not reflective of the overwhelming majority of renters. Therefore, I wanted to get some feedback. Do any others have experience with living in one of the Livus accommodation buildings? Apparently they have buildings in Bonn, Berlin, Essen, Magdeburg, and few other cities.

Anyone offered place in a Studentenwerk building for Winter

I’m starting course at OVGU this Winter term but struggling sorting out accommodation. Has anyone been offered a place in a Studentenwerk building for the Winter? If you were then when did you apply and when did you receive your offer?

I applied for a place with the Studentenwerk and am also looking at places in the private market. After a week of looking in the private market it seems significantly harder to find a place there from the US (and without a German local number).

A bit concerned about arriving without a place.

Accommodation Advice

Hey everyone, I’m a non-EU international student and will starting the bachelor of engineering science at Magdeburg this winter. I’ve had some bad WG experiences in the past, in other countries, and as a result am looking for a 1 bedroom apartment or studio. I know Alte Neustadt would be the best area to live in, but I’m honestly not coming across many openings there. What do you all think about the other areas? Can you give me some recommendations and thoughts on the other neighbourhoods?

Finding a place in a Studentenwerk building

I’ll be a new international student at OVGU Magdeburg in Winter. I applied for a single/1 room (furnished or unfurnished) in a studentenwerk building about 4 months ago. The FAQ states that they cannot tell you your place on the list. However, what do you believe are the chances I get a room? Also what is the timeline for knowing if you will get a place at a Studentenwerk building? I mean it’s the end of July now so should I be concerned now or should I otherwise assume that I will not find a place there this Winter term?
