A wedding I’m going to has an attire of “chic formal”. I’ve never heard of this style before. Google is no help. The wedding hosts are too busy to bother. ChatGPT says it’s a nice black suit, but I don’t trust it. The guys I’m going with are split 50-50 between tuxedos and nice dark suits.

To me, if you want us to wear tuxes, then it should say “black tie”. I was planning on a black suit with a tie and nice white dress shirt. But I wanted to ask the experts here.

(The wedding is in China, if that makes a difference in how it’s interpreted.)

I have sort of a strange question. When I owned my Tesla (currently awaiting my R2 invitation), I exclusively used Supercharger (SC) stations. They were often full, with lengthy and awkward “lines” and other drivers often jockeying for position. It was a mess.

I realize the R2 can use SC stations, which is great. But since I feel less compelled to stick to SC stations now, what are the next best, most widely available and accessible stations? In particular I’d like to avoid the obnoxiously packed craziness of Tesla SCs. Do you guys still rely on them heavily or do you get by using other brand stations?

I am trying to get a Visa for an 11-day trip in China. I am a US citizen traveling there for the first time. Here is the specific error message from the Visa portal:

Reply from Embassy/Consulate: Passport validity is less than one year. If you insist on applying, you will be issued a short-term visa.

That's all I can see. When I emailed the consular, they asked me to "Please see "Reply from embassy/consulate" for comments. Please resubmit the application so we can move forward with the review process."

But again I do not have a specific reply other than what I shared above. I also cannot "resubmit my application" because my application has already been submitted and is still pending.

Can someone clarify what how I should proceed?

A colleague visiting the city is trying to find a souvenir for his kid. In particular he’s looking for a toy fire truck. Where can I direct him? (He was going to try Pier 39 first.)

During my second test drive yesterday, the car’s navigation system would not announce directions. I checked the volume (specifically for navigation) and it was not muted and the volume was up.

I asked someone who looked at it and said it “might be” a bug. Is anyone aware of this?

My window to order is currently Sep-Oct 2026, which is perfect for us. But I keep seeing posts from folks whose windows have been moved up. If this occurs, can I delay purchasing? For a few personal reasons I’m not quite ready to buy right now. Can I “hold my spot” in line if I happen to get the option to order now?
