Sony TDG-BR750 3D Glasses - Is anyone using these regularly because they are terrible.

I've just started my journey to explore 3D though I've owned a 3D capable tv since about 2012. I started out with the Sony BR250s for glasses and they worked pretty well. There is a bit of "flickering" in very bright screens but overall I think they are performing how you would expect them too. That being said my kids and my wife didn't find them to be very comfortable so I sprung for a pair of TDG-BR750 to see if they would be more comfortable. They are in fact way more comfortable, but wow are they "blurry" as if a protective film is still on the lens, it's that bad.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone here uses TDG-BR750s and if they had better luck. I'm not finding much info but some older posts suggests that there are many defective 750s out there that shipped that way form the factory and it's kind of the luck of the draw if you get a good pair. What are other people's experience with this? Thanks!

Also, is anyone making NEW active shutter 3D glasses or do we have to just buy old stock?

3D glasses

I'm new to 3D even though I've owned a 3D capable TV since 2011. That said I'd like to finally pull the trigger... 15 years later.

I have a Sony BRAVIA XBR-55HX929 a TV I've loved to this day, probably one of the best tech purchases I ever made. I've been looking on eBay and other sites and found these glasses. I'd like to know if this is a good deal? They are new in box (4 pairs). Will the battery need to be replaced? Is that even viable for this model? Thanks for any help.

Decided to track my collection using AirTable What do you think?

I'm tracking my physical media collection using an Airtable database and would love some thoughts on the structure and info I'm collecting. For me the value is being able to see what I have without scanning the shelf with my eyeballs and also opening the door later to build some fun things like a chat bot I can query to help me select something to watch. Let me know what you think!

P.S. So glad to be back building a physical media collection.

Never seen this type before around my house... [North Central Connecticut]

This little guy was very defensive and was ready to defend himself. I'm used to seeing rat snakes around my property, but never seen this type before. Thank you!

UPDATE: Ah a young rat snake, only seen them when they are black and 4' long! Guess I know why we don't have any mice in the garage this season. Thank you!

Panasonic DP-UB820 with or without Best Buy Extended Warranty

I'm about to pull the trigger on this. 99% of the time I don't get an extended warranty, but I was wondering if you all thought it might be useful for this unit.

I would NEVER bring my Blu-ray player in for maintenance, so overall the hardware failure seems to be the only thing worthwhile here. What do you think? Worth it for $80?

UPDATE: I've decided to skip the warranty... Here's why... The 4 year warranty is almost the exact same price as getting a disk drive for my PS5 Pro. So, I if I skip the warranty and it fails outside the initial window and the parts are expensive or not worth getting I'll just eat the cost and go with a drive for my PS5. I understand I could save a lot of money and do that now, but I'm really interested in using a dedicated player despite some of the challenges people have encountered and swapping a faulty product every year because it keeps breaking doesn't sound fun even if it's "free." Thanks for the input everyone!

Jumped back in today. How'd I do on my first outing?

The goal was to get a broad range of titles including favorites from across the family and some new movies we haven't seen yet. Thank you to this sub for the advice many of you gave me before I jumped back in. Also, I canceled my last streaming service today too, no more streaming movies, tv shows, or music unless it's from my own local collection.

PS5 Pro for playing Blu-Ray or get a dedicated Blu-Ray Player?

I'm going to start rebuilding my Blu-Ray collection and was wondering if I should get a dedicated blu-Ray player to keep the run time down on my PS5 Pro? Does anyone else do this or do you just say screw it and run that PS5 no matter what?

UPDATE: This thread helped me figure out the right way forward for me... Here is what I did and why...

Initially, I was going to get a 4K Blu-ray player because of the feedback here. That feedback was largely not to worry about the PS5 getting used too much but that I might as well get the thing that works best for the job.

That said... After using my setup (and before ordering a Blu-ray player), I was unhappy with the PS5's connectivity to the TV. This is because it was hooked up through the PSVR1 V2 breakout box. Yes, I was aware there would be some limitations, but it was far more than expected even after doing my research (googling). That's when I decided the PS4 Pro could be moved into this setup so the PS5 could go directly to the TV and the PS4 Pro could handle the PSVR1 while also handling Blu-ray playback.

I know this means no 4K UHD discs, but I think I'm okay with that for now. At the end of the day, I wanted full access to my gaming library and enough space to play PSVR1 and PSVR2, which meant it needed to be in the primary bedroom since the basement ceilings in my home are only about 7' high. Now I think I have the optimal setup and I can start rebuilding my Blu-ray collection sans 4K UHD, of course. Anyway thanks again for all of the input.

P.S. My PS4 Pro is whisper quiet after a solid cleaning and fresh thermal paste application, so no worries there. :-)

What's the best setup Direct to TV our Through Bar 9 with and HDMI switch?

What I want to know is should I use the HDMI input on my sound bar and use an HDMI switch for multiple devices or should I go direct to my TV for the devices? I was going to the direct to TV route but some of my research indicated that eARC to the Sound bar may lose some codec support and it's best to use the HDMI Input on the bar itself. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Laser Jammers/Shifters

Does anyone have any experience installing a laser jammer/shifter in a VB specifically wondering what mounting options were possible and what the performance was like. Thanks.

Lag in Power and the lurches

Bringing into the dealer tomorrow but would love insight from you all to make sure the tech doesn’t skip anything important.

When I’m stopped and doing a regular smooth take-off into 1st the power isn’t all there and suddenly it comes on and is sometimes almost startling. Shifting into second it happens as well but not as prominent nothing in 4th/5th. It almost feels like the clutch is slipping but it’s not exactly that feeling.

Possibly contaminated gas no idea something is up with the power train.
