Water leak

50 pound Huebsch extractor. I fixed hot water valve issue, but there’s a leak coming from either the spigot or the hose. Access is difficult, but I can get back there if needed. From above I can’t tell if the leak is from the spigot or the hose. It’s not a stream, it’s a steady drip that wasn’t present prior to turning off the water to change the valves. It appeared afterwords. All these items are around 20 years old. How do I fix this? Let me know your ideas if it’s the spigot and if it’s the hose. Initial diagnosis is it’s not the packing nut so may just be a hose washer issue, but that dx could be wrong. Snark ignored, advice appreciated. Thank you.

UPDATE: it was the packing nut. Thank you all for your help. I literally fixed it with moments to spare as the 10 gallon HD bucket was about to overflow (it’s been about 24 hours). Also, getting behind washers no fun … I’m 6ft 1in … this is more a job for the vertically challenged

DIY

Original owner had this bizarre, creepy sign. I thought it looked like a demon eel. The signage people I work with wanted $1200 to print my design and install it … the sign has FOUR SCREWS! So for TWENTY DOLLARS I painted it myself. No one is going to decide to use my mat based on signage … and I’m all for supporting other local businesses … but cmon! $1200 …. no. It also took me about 10 minutes to do (not including an hour or so to let the white paint dry first). So for owners out there … DIY can save you a ton.

Alliance University and LOW videos

Are all of the Alliance University repair/maintenance videos posted online? I've seen a few and others are behind a i/wall. If you know where they can all be found please let us know. They're very informative. The LOW repairman on YouTube from 6 years ago is the GOAT ... I watch his posts on repeat. He's already saved me close to $1,000 in DIY vs paying someone. Thank you

HUEBSCH Dryer Button issue

Huebsch 35 pound dryer about 20 years old. Accepts coins and shows time, but press START nothing happens. No beep. Nothing. Switched out the door switch/button today with one from a working dryer. Did not work. Any ideas why dryer accepts coins, shows time, does not start. There is no clicking, buzzing or beeping. Press START ... nothing. If attaching the wires to the button in a certain way is important then that may be an issue. There's only 2 wires. I looked up some new buttons and they had 4 blades instead of 2 ... so not sure why I was told they're compatible. And I've looked at the I/O board and they're not obvious wire issues. Regardless, please let me know what could be the problem and how to solve it. Advice appreciate, snark ignored. Thank you in advance. I also switched out the control with a working control ... it too would accept coins, show time, but press START nothing happened ... so the control is not the issue.

Huebsch 50 pound door assembly replacement

Huebsch 50 pound washer. 20 years old. Washer runs and after X number of minutes (and seconds after I stopped this video) the plunger locks, timer goes to 1, drum drains and “door” flashes on control screen.

I have a door assembly from a 30 pound washer I can use to replace this one. Ai tells me to replace entire assembly and that assembly from 30 is compatible w 50. Instead of spending $270 on new assembly… I’m using an assembly off of another down washer.

Never done this repair before. I have watched my repairman do it and filmed him. I know to take BEFORE pics for reference. Any and all advice appreciated. Snark ignored.

Finally … based upon your viewing of the video and what I described happening next … do you agree that the entire assembly needs to be replaced. Thank you.

UPDATE: Switched out the door lock assembly and it worked ... but ... I have 20 year old Huebsch ... the I/O boards have evolved and the 8 buttons my washers came with have been reduced to 4 ... sometimes 3 ... so I went to use the control switch to do a free wash .... and somehow hit the wrong button and caused my washer to shoot a C19 then C60 error ... basically it thought I had a 'card reader' ... these are coin machines that have never had a card reader ... but the I/O boards don't know that ... so that was a whole thing ... after turning the breaker off and on it EVENTUALLY decided to work ... so possibly successful install ... time will tell

UPDATE addendum ... I was trying to figure out how to get into the programming mode when the washer suddenly showed the price (instead of the error code) so I stopped trying to turn OFF the phantom card reader ... if anyone knows how to get into Huebsch programming mode let me know ... Ai was not really helpful

Replacing relay on Huebsch dryer

I'm going to change my first relay on a Huebsch dryer that's about 20 years old. Took a video of my repairman doing one. Power off. He would go wire by wire on one side undoing a wire from old and rewiring into new relay. Half way through he would disconnect relay clip and attach new relay to dryer. Then complete the wire by wire transfer. Double check all wires with screwdriver and then by pulling hard on each one. He makes it look easy, but I've been fooled by that before (the diaphragm incident ... we do not speak of). Any legit tips or guidance appreciated. Snark ignored. Thank you all in advance as I slowly build up my repair ability.

One more important question: of course right after I ordered one I realized I have 9 relays in 3 unused washers. All Huebsch. Assuming the I/O tells each relay what to do then it does NOT matter which relay I choose to move from the washer to the dryer correct? On the washer one relay goes left, one right, one speed. But I just want someone who knows more than I to tell me that it doesn't matter which relay I scavenge. Thanks

Huebsch 45 dryer roller issue … borderline insanity

This is driving me insane. Replacing rollers. Took right roller off in 30 seconds. Left roller took 4 freaking hours … inner nut and bolt turned together and wouldn’t come off. Eventually washer and nut inside panel fell off from all the manipulation and bolt came out. Opened front panel (I didn’t know I could have done this earlier … this is my first roller repair). Found washer and nut inside panel. Put entire left roller assembly together … and it all turns together. WTF!!! I don’t understand why right assembly is fine (bolt doesn’t turn) and left is not. And if I tighten left assembly too much then NOTHING turns including roller.

Why am I changing the rollers … drum makes horrific noise while turning. Could be rollers or fan. Regardless, this roller issue is beyond frustrating.

Newbie owner since January 2026. Just starting to expand my repair knowledge.

As usual snark ignored. Tips and knowledge appreciated. Thank you.

CosmeticRx package arrived hot / ice pack melted

CosmeticRx package arrived hot. FedEx soft package. Packed well I guess, but ice pack melted and orange Rx bottle hot. I've received maybe 3 or 4 packages from others over the past 10 months which were cold and ice packs active. This is one bottle of 15mg for a month obviously unopened. I put it in the fridge. Is it still effective and if so for how long? My thoughts are I'll just use this bottle for the next 4 doses. What say you Internets... snark ignored as usual. Thank you.
