*Urgent* Looking for an affordable place in either CA or OR

Hey there, I'm in a bit of a desprate situation rn. I'm actively trying to escape my abusive ex and need a new place by the end of June. Looking to move to the West Coast for health reasons, ideally Oregon or Northern California. Unfortunately it's not easy since I'm disabled and can't afford much right now

I would be open to having roommates as long as the place meets my needs and isn't an onion-heavy household. I'm allergic (environmental allium allergy) and would never be able to use the kitchen if it constantly smells of onion

*TLDR at the end

A little bit about me:
- 28 NB
-LGBTQ+ 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈
- Goth, Pagan, and a total nerd. I love TTRPG's, video games, musicals, horror movies, mythology, folklore, and most things in the fantasy genre
- I'm a disabled ambulatory wheelchair user, so any place I move to must be accessible
- Born and raised in California, but I've been trapped living in Iowa fot the past 8 years
- I'm moving back to the West Coast for health reasons, and unfortunately can't go anywhere else if I want to get better :/
- I have 1 cat. She's an older cat, an ESA, and a total sweetheart
- I can't drive, so need a place with reliable access to public transportation
- I currently work from home, though I'd be looking for a part time job as soon as I move since money is tight right now
- Unfortunately my current budget is not great, as I can only afford around $700-$800 for rent (not including utilities). I will be on food stamps though and a deal I've worked out with previous roommates is to use that to buy all of our groceries in place of the rest of rent (I currently get about $300 a month living in Iowa, but that will likely go up when I move since the cost of living is so different there)
- My moving expenses and down payment are already saved up for so no worries there ✌
- I have an entire apartment's worth of furniture coming with. I can pay for a storage unit if needed, but if there's anyone who wants to find a place to move in together it's something you should know

*TLDR, my needs are:
- wheelchair accessible
- allows cats (1 ESA)
- public transportation nearby
- budget of $800 for rent not including utilities. Would be willing to use food stamps to buy groceries in exchange for covering a portion of my rent

I know its not ideal, but I could really use the help to get me out of here ASAP. If you are interested or have any leads pls feel free to DM me 😅

Had Someone Grab My Chair For The First Time

Like the title says. I know its a common occurrence and was prepared for it eventually but tbh I'm still kinda shocked?

Got my first wheelchair a few months ago after 3 years of my mobility rapidly declining. I haven't really been out much since I got it though due to various circumstances, and everytime I was out it was either with spikes on the handles or being pushed by people I consented to move me.

I'm at the hospital today getting a heart moniter installed for the first time. Was almost late and didn't have time to put the spikes on, and was directed to a wing of the hospital I've never been to. Usually not a problem but I'm already very tired today and turned the corner to see a massive steep ramp (two actually, one facing each way). Was contemplating how to get up since there's not any room to build up momentum when a nurse noticed and asked me to help. I stated clearly that I did, but only needed help to get up the ramp and then I'd be ok. She did not let go of my chair and insisted on pushing me all the way to the waiting room.

I'm not a confrontational person when it comes to strangers so I reverted to a fawn response and just thanked her and tried to move on with my day despite feeling weird about it. After the appointment I was heading back and wanted to try making it up the ramp myself. The hallway on that side was plenty long enough to get the momentum needed and tbh I kinda needed a small win like being able to make it on my own.

Just as I'm about to reach it two people walk out in the middle of the hallway without paying attention and I quickly have to swerve not to hit them, losing half my build up in the process. One of them is the nurse from before who asked if I need help again and wothout stopping I very loudly and clearly state that I appreciate it but want to do this on my own. I'm only halfway up the ramp before she decides to push me without my consent and when I looked at her she just went "oh hush, I'm helping"

Was so baffled I froze again for a few seconds. When I unfroze we were at the top and I immediately put hands on my wheels to stop her from moving me forward, told her *again* that I had it, and awkwardly made my way back to the main part of the hospital. She followed me all the way to the elevator and while its 100% possible that she was already headed that way I'm deeply disturbed by the whole situation.

It's weird because even though I knew it was gonna happen eventually I'm still so shaken up? Is this normal?

[28 NB] Looking For Connections And/Or Someone With A PS5

First time doing something like this so I'm a but nervous

I'm disabled and stuck at home most days with only discord and my ps5 for company. My disabilities have gotten a lot worse over the last 2 years and I've slowly found myself isolated from all my irl connections. Im hoping to find some people who are looking for gaming buddies or just chill hangouts over voice chat

Little bit about me: I'm goth, trans, queer, pagan, neurodivergent, and a huge nerd. Into anime, DnD & other TTRPG's, Warhammer (Death Guard & Skaven main), horror, musicals (I love to sing!), mythology, folklore, art, music, reading, animals, and the fantasy genre as a whole. Some of my favorite video games include Lollipop Chainsaw, Bioshock Infinite, Diablo 4, Borderlands 2, Saints Row 3, Tomb Raider 2013, and the entirety of the Far Cry franchise so far.

I really love playing co-op games but rarely have someone willing to play with me so if any of the above interests you pls feel free to hmu. I'm also just down to have a nice chat, we don't have to game

She's a southern belle housewife who was turned in the late 50's.

Came home the night she was embraced to find her husband cheating on her. He was the first and only human she ever ate. The neighbors heard the commotion and called the cops. When they arrived and found Martha May hunched over her husbands body they dragged her off to the asylum that night. Threw her in the basement and forgot about her.

Later, when that same asylum caught fire, she was presumed dead and the building was abandoned. She spent over 50 years trapped in that basement, feeding off the rats to survive. Spent so long eating rats in fact, that now they're all she can eat. Was finally freed in the 2010's by an unlucky group of urban explorers. Killed them, escaped, and took her rats with her for good measure.

Now that she's free she just wants the one thing she's always wanted, the one thing she obsessed over for the last 50 years. A nice house, a nice husband, and some lovely children. *Unfortunately* she seems to be having some bad luck in that department, as even though she's been married several more times since escaping, all of them have "mysteriously vanished" after the honeymoon phase wears off.

Luckily for her, she's quite the accomplished socialite so there's never been a short supply of mortal men lining up at the door to wife her up. Not to mention, she always has her rats! Her current favorite is the unusually buff matriarch of the colony Pearl, who basically lives in Martha May's signature beehive hairstyle.

And while she may not have any children to call her own yet, that doesn't stop her from taking on a motherly role in both her coterie and Elysium. And if she learns some jucy gossip in the meantime that she can sell to interested parties, well that's just her own business now ain't it? ;)

Hey there! I know this is a bit unconventional but I was commiserating how difficult it was to find a roommate on r/onionIntolerance and someone suggested I try and make a post here

My friend and I are looking for a potential roomate/roommates to move with us in June.

I am a disabled wheelchair user who currently works from home. I also have a deathly allium allergy thats partially environmental so I can't have any onions or peppers in the house (including bell peppers). Unfortunately this is nonnegotiable since it's a matter of life and death for me :/

We're looking for affordable wheelchair- accessible places around the Rohnert Park, Petaluma, or Santa Rosa area (more focused on Rohnert Park)

Our current rent budget combined is about $1700-$2000, though we are looking for something on the cheaper side. We haven't settled on a place yet because we want to talk with our new roommate and find someplace that works for everybody budget and location-wise

We already have 2 cats, though 1 of them is an ESA. We might be open to another cat owner but would have to talk first to make sure the place we get has enough room for all of them

Pls DM me if you are interested ✌

Hey there!

I know this is a long shot but here I go 🙃

My roommate and I are looking for an affordable 2 bedroom place around the Rohnert Park, Petaluma, or Santa Rosa area. We're looking to move in sometime in June

Our requirements is that it must be wheelchair accessible and allow cats (we have 2, but 1 of them is an ESA)

Our current budget for rent is about $1700-$2000 combined, but we'd prefer something on the more affordable side since I'm disabled and money is tight

We are open to roommates but a big issue is that I have a deadly environmental allium allergy, so I can't have any onions or peppers in the house at all (including bell peppers). Unfortunately this is nonnegotiable since its literally a matter of life and death for me

Pls feel free to DM me if you have any openings or opportunities ✌
