TDS refund on PG Stipend

We get the TDS refund on our stipends given by colleges. But there have been problems this year. Does anyone know how to respond to IT inquiry as what I know is that stipend is non taxable as we ate students and not employees of the hospital. What to do and what is legally correct?

Are dogs allowed in Janeshwar Mishra Park

I have a pet dog and was wanting to take him out in a park. He is vaccinated and I have the licence and would make hi wear the bite guard, moreover he is golden retriever so mostly he remains friendly. Can I take him to Janeshwar Mishra Park. If not are there any other good parks for taking your canine pets?

Returning salary received as DM SR in KGMC

If we quit a DM course in KGMC, why do we need to give back the salary we received during that period. The administration here is asking me that if you want to quit, you have to pay back the salary received during this period. I mean, I have worked in the capacity of SR in the hospital why the f** should I return the salary. Is there any NMC guidelines which I can quote to the staff as they are adamant on this illogical rule. I am considering quitting the DM course from KGMC but this would affect my finances severely.

How to find work in Singapore as a Psychiatrist from India

I am a psychiatrist and currently pursuing sub specialisation course but am considering to move to Singapore for practice. What are the prospects and what all is required to do so. Main reason is a better quality of life which according to me is difficult to get in India if you don't have generational wealth and depend upon your monthly salary.

Severe anxiety after echo

I am a young male in late 20s.I experience severe anxiety as if I'll go mad and beat someone very badly whenever I hear echo sound and mostly in normal intensity like conversation. I am taking Bupron XL 150mg daily for depressive symptoms for more than 1 month. I don't know if others feel like this but it really makes me go mad to the point that it's affecting my personal as well as social life as everyone else can easily tolerate this. I have no other comorbidy and in a physically good shape. I have a stable job and there's no source of stress for me. I have been having this since more than 5 years but exactly I do not know when it developed.

Why no leave for resident doctors

Recently there has been shift in the gazetted holiday of Bakrid from 27th May to 28th May. All government setups would be having a holiday but here in KGMC, the vice chancellor has issued a circular stating that OPDs shall run on that day. I don't understand if there would be OPDs running then what is the point of a holiday. I don't know that if they have a right to cancel a gazetted holiday and that too when there's no emergency need. Why are doctors don't understand that they too have a family and a social life which they are destroying just because a person in a senior post decided to cancel a gazetted holiday and that too without any compensatory holiday.

Rapido scam near KGMC

Yesterday I had booked an auto via Rapido from KGMC to Manak Nagar. Everything was fine until the free time countdown of 3 minutes started when the driver was more than 200 metres away. There was no way to ask rapido that why that countdown has started and should I run for the auto or what. The driver reacted as if he doesn't know anything.

NNT and sample size

What is the relationship between NNT and sample size. If the sample size is small then it shoots up unrealistically. Is there a minimum threshold of sample size for which NNT calculated out of the study would be relevant.

Civic sense and decency?

From the world's largest democracy. Why do people here lack civic sense and decency. I have seen that it's not related to socio economic condition as people from the relatively better strata also lack that. We as humans have lived in social groups so how come this behavioural trait flourish in the evolutionary process?

Plastic bags are back

India had banned single use plastics way back in 2022. It was very much a celebrated move and was poised to tackle micro plastic contamination. Common citizens had inconvenience in the beginning though that was mainly out of our habit. We had significantly decreased the use of plastic. But I think they are back and now are again easily available. I don't know about the type of plastic but are we moving in the right direction.

I have recently started my sub specialisation in geriatric psychiatry in India. What should I consider for research. Problem in India is that residents are overworked and feasibility is a major issue as there is almost no support staff and everything has to be managed single handedly. I have done a thesis during my specialisation but I do not want to do a study just based on scales. Something considering physiology or anything. Also, if there are any experts out here kindly jelpthow tp go about Geriatric Psychiatry as I am interested in this patient population but working here often makes me question my choices.

Thanks
