Hey everyone — I work with a platform called Selfwish and wanted to share it here because I genuinely think it’s built for what country club staff are already trying to do: keep members engaged, connected, and coming back.

What is it?

Selfwish (theselfwish.com / free on the App Store) is a social golf app where members can post and find activities based on their preferences — skill level, tee time, age range, budget, and more. The tagline is “Building friendships through golf” and it really is that simple. Members who want a round but don’t have a foursome lined up can find like-minded golfers at your club and get out on the course.

Why it matters for your club specifically:

The #1 complaint we hear from club GMs and member services teams is that casual or newer members feel disconnected — they join, play solo a few times, and quietly don’t renew. Selfwish directly attacks that problem by giving members a frictionless way to find each other around:

•	Play — matching golfers by skill and tee time so rounds actually happen  
•	Dining — members can coordinate post-round meals or 19th hole meetups, driving F&B revenue without staff lifting a finger  
•	Training — members looking to improve can connect with others at similar skill levels or find practice partners ahead of lessons with your pros

What’s the lift on your end?

Basically none. You’re not installing software or integrating with your tee sheet system. You just let members know the app exists. We’re happy to provide simple digital assets (a QR code card for the pro shop, a line in your member newsletter, whatever works) to get the word out.

Why I’m posting here instead of cold-calling your GM:

Because you — the staff — are the ones who actually know what members are asking for. If a member has complained about not having playing partners, or your member retention has dipped, this is the kind of low-effort thing that can quietly move the needle. Wanted to put it in front of the people who’d use it or flag it to leadership, not just get it past a gatekeeping email inbox.
