Is it worth resetting UCG Max back to factory and starting fresh?

My home network is working fine, and has not been messed around with since I installed it when the UCG Max come out. So it’s been running since about October 2024

The software has been evolving and updating along the way. When I access it now I see many features and settings i don’t remember or have set.

Is it worth resetting these gateways and setting up fresh every couple of years to utilize any new features that have been added or changed along the way.

I’d don’t have it very complicated it would involve setting up a couple of wireless networks and a couple of VLANs i have configured.

So now and then is it worth erasing and starting fresh and not restore back from a backup?

iPadOS 26 on iPad 8 ?

What the consensus currently on 26.4.2 being installed into iPad 8th gen?

Im currently on 18.7.8

I only have a 32 GB so I know I will need to wipe it to even have room to install.

Can we currently go back to 18 if I make the jump?

Anyone with iPad 8th and running latest 26 what it like. Laggy or not?

I need a USB-A 2.5G adapter that will be running on an old Mac mini 24/7.

My question is would something like a Ugreen one be fine for this.

What brands are reliable for long term and do they get hot when idle, think the Ugreen is a metal shell.

Anyone running run 24/7. How has it held up.

Trying to find something that will do this.

I want to have power strip under my desk but I want the ON/OFF switch to be on top of the desk.

Belkin once made a power strip that did just this called “conserve” but they stopped making it years ago.

For my home setup Im using a UCG Max and have 4 switches of various capacity. Not all the ports are filled.

My question is any way to export a run down of the switches and connected devices. Maybe an excel document would be handy.

I want to slim down my network and simplify into less gear and less physical switches.

So I got myself not one but two audio visualization devices for my hifi both by Douk Audii one is a Nixie tube based and the other is like an old school VF bar spectrum analyzer. They both have a 3.5mm audio in socket.

On my amp I want to use the tape loop output to send them the audio from whatever Im playing.

It’s been 30 years since I messed around with tape loops on amps. I think it will be fine but is running a RCA Y adapter from the tape out going to cause any issues.

I think I will get a little voltage drop but is this a bad idea for the amp or will it not even notice?

I don’t have the cables yet to test and I can’t remember the theory on try to split a like level out.

If this is a bad idea any other suggestions.

Google doesn’t seems to understand what I’m asking lol

My 2013 Veloster Turbo is on its last legs. Looking to switch to GR86 or at push BRZ

Anyhow else had a VT before moving over?

How do you find the car in comparison. So do you notice the extra bit of power.

Does it feel smaller or bigger inside or about the same.

Im struggling to find even a demo unit to test drive so I have no comparison. Not even sat inside one yet.

Anything you miss or not miss.

Im sad to see mine go I love the colour and I do find it pretty fun to drive when pushed. But it’s getting pricey to fix now.

Only found out about this a few weeks ago and watched some videos today. Super excited about this product.

Of course it’s early days.

Will it get to the point we can easily just order the unit and dock in that wonderful classic grey

When you go to the pre order page is suggests other items like a 128MB memory and Bluetooth. I assume not needed as built in and they are for the other MiSTer product.

With the add on dock can with PS1 core is it able to play audio CDs like the original PS1 did. With the PS1 audio CD screen?

Can it do PS1 boot up screen

Assume it can be shipped to Canada. Hopefully not too expensive to get one in Canada. Or will there be country local suppliers / dealers?
