Why buy a ps6 when they will just keep making more concords ?

Been playing since ps1 and I think they have finally lost me. Their first party line up has been complete shit this gen. Priced out of modern gaming in general, will just play retro and indies from here on out. The ray tracing and fake frames can't bring back the dead franchises they killed to fund all the live service aids nobody wants.Besides that all their first party stuff outside of astro bot has turned into oscar bait, personally I blame the last of us.

Y2K for me is 1997 through 2003

I didn't see a full vibe shift or culture reset until 2004. Right when dubya bush got re-elected and people finally realized the "weapons of mass destruction" were bullshit. For context I went from age 7 to 13 in that time frame. Movies from the late 90s were still getting sequels in 2003,the matrix and blade being the main examples. TRL was still popular, toonami was still airing on weekdays. The monoculture from my childhood was still present for the most part, but things were changing. People were still using late 90s tech in schools and homes,I didn't get wifi until 2005. Blockbuster and video stores were still popular until netflix got more advertising in 2008. Seems like most of the y2k discussion here is by gen z and younger strangely enough.

The people saying ps6 and xbox helix will be under 1000 dollars are smoking crack

The prices for all three consoles have risen every 9 months or so. The steam machine has a higher price and worse specs than a launch ps5 or xbox series x etc. Could see the next gen consoles having payment plans like phones or a mortgage. Outside of 2d indies I am priced out of modern gaming.

The dic dub of sailor moon and ocean dub of dbz both retconned by toei

Both dubs produced in canada and both being the main things that introduced many to anime in north america etc. Gives me this nostalgic bitter sweet feeling these days. Both lost media outside of piracy. Can see why toei ignores them because this is the modern world, they are products of their time. But still would like some way to watch them outside of torrents or old dvd's.

Gameplay mechanics have not changed much since 2008

Or maybe I just haven't played enough indie games ? Feels like what you do in most games has stayed still since the ps360 era. The standardized twin stick over the shoulder view got rid of the jank from the early 3d days, but at the same time things feel more homogenized now.

▲ 7 r/Emo

The 90s stuff is so different than the 2000's stuff are waves really the best differentiator ?

Especially when emo is a moniker fans and journalists came up with not the bands them selves ? Like the opposite of most punk bands, who willingly labelled them selves punk after 1977. Still new to all this stuff it sure is complicated. Like indie and alternative the label really is vague because all 3 have roots in punk one way or another.

Am I a fake anime fan because I haven't watched jujutsu kaisen or chainsaw man, frieren ? Or because I watch dubs and shows made before 2020 ?

People calling sword art online and k-on classic anime will never not disturb me.
