I (27 f) work as a paralegal at a law firm where I’ve been for 2.5 years. I’ve grown pretty close to my coworkers and I’m leaving my job next week to move to a new state to start law school.

Today everyone was in my office talking about something, and I mentioned that I had glow in the dark stars on my ceiling and I use zoo pals plates, among other things. It kind of escalated from there and everyone started saying I need to grow up and that I’m going to law school and it’s not appropriate to be so childish. One coworker also made a comment about how I “make her think” about my husband which I really don’t like. It sounded like she was implying he’s a…you know.

I’m leaving next week but it still hurt :( just needed to vent a little.

Okay so I follow this account on TikTok that has these scenarios where you pick different things on each slide, but it’s a series. The one I’m most obsessed with is a younger girl and an older man who lived in her neighborhood. She will put on a cute little outfit and then go to his house to hang out because her parents suck or whatever. He’s grumpy and rugged but definitely likes her.

ANYWAY, are there books that kind of fit that vibe? Like dive bars, cigarettes, older pickup truck, diner vibes? I need the man to be a lot older but the girl needs to be over 18, but naive for some reason. I know this is very specific so I don’t think there will be a lot of recs but I will take anything.

My only no’s are breeding, monsters (vampires are okay) scat, and I would prefer a HEA - literally everything else is fine.
