Project or Company? My Next Project After 2 Exits (Any Cofounders Out There?)

Hi,

I have been building tech companies for the last 10+ years. I’ve been fortunate to have 2 exits, along with 101 mistakes been made along the way… all part of the journey.

I currently have 3 tech companies live at present, with a great team around each of them. I have one large engineering team that work across all 3 companies.

2 years ago, I got my engineering team to develop a small app (Linkie) for my personal use. Fast forward 2 years later, I use this app significantly more than any other app on my phone.

I have just put the latest version live on the App Store, however it will likely stay as a ‘Project’ and not a ‘Business’ as such, as I don’t have the bandwidth or time to transform the ‘Project’ into a ‘Business’. Most of my companies are SAAS based infrastructure to large enterprise customers, so this ‘Project’ does not fall inline with that.

However, if there is anyone on here that is interested in becoming part of this ‘Project’ as a Cofounder, please do send me a private message, as more than happy to share this app and upside.

What does the app do? Why did I build this app?

Like anyone with a busy personal and progressional life, my time is limited and I need to check multiple things each day on the internet to ‘Stay Ahead’:

A - Daily Websites (News, Sport, Stocks, Cars, Tech, etc)

B - Daily Work Links (Reports, Dashboards, Sales, etc)

C - Daily AI Queries (Summarise News, Predictions, Market Moves, etc) [this is a really really useful feature for me, and you don’t need any AI account]

Here is a short video of me swiping through my daily stuff - https://www.loom.com/share/8be7022430a64628b101620b0e61992c

01 - Swipeable Carousel

Instead of having to open 100+ tabs to check my stuff each day, Linkie enables you to organise your daily websites, work links, and daily AI queries into a swipeable carousel, so you can stay ahead by swiping through what is important to you at speed.

02 - Summary To 3 Sentences

Not only can you swipe through all of your stuff at speed, but if you land on an article that you want to read, you can either save it to your ‘Read Later List’ OR click the ‘Summarise’ button and the app will summarise the article into 3 sentences.

03 - Discover & Follow

You can also see what other websites are trending from other users, and you can follow other users so that you can add their stuff (links) to your own collections… “Instragram enables you follow people to see their photos… Linkie is enables you to follow people so you can see their stuff / knowledge sources

It is not a ‘bookmark’ app as such… I would better describe it as a ‘fixed browser’ that has all of your stuff. All of the content in your links / websites should change daily… they should not be bookmarks (such as instructions or recipes).

I’m still not sure if I am the only strange person in the world who really benefits from swiping through their stuff like this, however I have shared it within a small circle and it seems many others really enjoy swiping through their stuff / internet too.

As per above, this will likely stay as a ‘Project’, but if anyone (who has experience) with the App market in the productivity space or has connections to ‘productivity influencers’, please do DM me, as more than happy to bring people into this and share the upside.

I hope some of you get some use out of it… I appreciate anyone who has read this far - thank you

For anyone who wants the app, they can get it here - www.linkie.app

Does Shopify Have The Best Conversion Rate... And If So, Why?

Hi,

I am doing a deep dive on Conversion Rate Optimisation at the moment, and reading lots around Shopify being the best in terms of their Checkout Conversion Rate.

Which eCommerce platform do you believe has the best conversion rate? Shopify have always pushed this as one of their key pitch points.

If it is Shopify or any other eCommerce platform, what is it that makes their conversion rate so good on their Checkout.

Thank you in advance for your input and view.

Hotel Recommendation (Employee Treat)

Hi,

I have one of my employees arriving over in Dubai from the UK, for 5 days next week.

I would like to treat them to a really good hotel in Dubai, but given it is summer and the war saga is ongoing, a lot of hotels are empty and unfortunately lack atmosphere, and amenities as understandingly, they can’t keep everything open.

I had another employee over 4 weeks ago and put them up in The Atlantis Royal.

They were impressed with the hotel, but only 2 of the 15+ restaurants were open and the hotel was very quite.

Can anyone recommend a hotel that seems to be busy and has lots of amenities open, or even amenities close by - thank you
