Cadet at Air Force Academy got a severe knee injury during training. How do we protect his career?
Hi everyone,
Posting for a friend who is currently a cadet at the Air Force Academy (AFA). He recently sustained a severe knee injury during training.
He is extremely worried about his career. AFA rules are strict, and a long recovery could cause him to get medically boarded out or face relegation.
We need advice on:
- How does AFA/Command Hospital handle major training injuries for cadets? What is the reality regarding medical leave, relegation vs. getting medically boarded out?
- What is the best administrative/medical approach he should take with the academy authorities so he can recover properly without risking a permanent discharge?
- If any ex-cadets, officers, or military personnel have experience with major injuries during training, your guidance would mean a lot!

Looking for a guitar tutor (beginner level)
Hey guys!
I actually borrowed a guitar from a friend about a year ago with high hopes of learning, but it’s basically just been sitting in the corner looking cool ever since. Since it’s not even mine and my friend could literally ask for it back at any time, I really need to finally get on it and start playing!
I tried learning on my own through YouTube, but it’s just not clicking for me and I really need someone to actually guide me through the basics.
I’m looking for someone who’d be down to jump on Zoom calls to help me learn. I am definitely able to pay you for your time, so feel free to hit me up with what you’d charge so we can see if it fits my budget!
As a woman, I’d definitely love to learn from another girl if possible, but honestly my main priority is just finding someone patient who doesn't mind helping a total beginner.
