Are the 100/hr contract jobs actually attractive

I see a lot of telehealth, contract, and 1099 jobs posted at 100/hr but this seems low to me if I have to put away 30% for taxes, pay for insurance through the market, pay for my own malpractice and possibly collaborating physician. Am I missing something?? My coworker seems to think this is decent but I don't get it. And if your patients don't show you aren't making anything, so wouldn't the average be less than 100/hr for the year?

Berkley KinderCare Experiences

Hello everyone, wondering who currently uses or has recently used (last couple years) Berkley KinderCare for daycare for their children. My infant is due to start there in October. We like the hours they have as I work longer shifts, and when we toured we had no issues. But I have trouble getting a response from them when I contact which worries me. Please let me know if your child has had a positive experience there <3 or otherwise.

My birthing experience

TW: birth complications may freak some people out but this is my story.

I am typing this from the hospital as I just gave birth yesterday at 1 pm. What a wild ride.

My pregnancy was super easy, minimal nausea first trimester and was able to work out and meal prep the entire time until the last couple weeks because too pregnant. Worked full time until my due date. Ended up getting induced at 40+6 (8/2/26 10 AM) because I was OVER IT and didn't want to waste my maternity leave .

Labor started off chill with a misoprostol, bouncing on the ball, bath, walking around, etc. I took the misoprostol at around 10 AM and around 7 pm started on pitocin, the lowest dose. 8 pm I started getting really bad contractions and asked for the epidural, which is literally magical angel medicine. Didn't feel a thing for hours after that and was able to sleep on and off throughout the night. At 4:15 AM we started going up on pitocin and broke my water. Breaking the water is when everything kind of went downhill, labor sped up exponentially which was positive but she turned sunny side up and pretty sure this is when her cord got wrapped around her neck. With her facing anteriorly her head was jutting into my rectum and all of my laboring was happening in my rectum. Excruciating pain that the epidural didn't touch. I finally dilated to 10 cm 100% effaced at 6:30ish AM on 8/3 and we started pushing. I pushed in various positions but best was hands and knees and squatting on bed because of the rectal pressure, when I laid down or on my side I was writing around in pain. I used all the humming, moaning, breathing, you name it. They gave me an epidural bolus with lidocaine around 10 AM and I was able to sleep for 20 minutes. Woke up and started pushing again and rectal pain was manageable but quickly started getting severe again, it felt like pushing a bowling ball through a hemorrhoid. But I was able to lay on my back for longer after the lidocaine and everyone kept encouraging me to push because they said I was making progress, so I did my best.

I was so done yall. Like questioning living, trying to figure out how I was going to get through this, wondering if something was wrong with my anatomy. If I should request a C-section. Overall pushed for 5 hours. Pushed like my life depended on it over and over through the rectal pressure/pain which is literally where you focus your push in labor so every attempt worsened the pain. At 12:20ish I requested a vacuum assist because they said I would be a good candidate, because she was down and visible but her being sunny side up was keeping her in there and killing me. They told me if they failed 3 attempts at vacuum assist I would need an emergency c section. I said ok great, I'm gassed out and done. Cried multiple times from sheer exhaustion and frustration. Used two vacuum attempts and gave me an episiotomy and she came out, along with many push attempts in between. What a relief. Cord wrapped around her neck, pooped on the way out. Crying immediately which was wonderful. I was like wow almost everything that could have gone wrong did!! But it's over. Wrong again.

About 4 hours later I ended up hemorrhaging, losing 3 liters of blood, having to have an emergency D&C to remove retained clots. My blood pressure was 80/50 otw to the emergency room and I was literally thinking I was going to die, just happy to meet my daughter. Now I am sitting next to her in the postpartum suite, my vagina feels like it is on fire and is swollen to hell after birth, episiotomy AND d&c, my whole body hurts but when she lays on my chest to feed it is the most magical and wonderful feeling in the world. I do want more children and I think I will elect for a C-section next time if baby doesn't come on their own.

Getting induced tomorrow

Having an elective induction at 40+5 tomorrow night! My provider said we would have scheduled one for 41 weeks so the two days in between doesn't really make a huge difference. I have been SO ready to give birth but now that I'm getting induced I'm getting tons of anti-induction content on social media, which is ridiculous, but I'm starting to feel pretty nervous. It seems like birthing can go really good or really bad despite induction or naturally going into labor, despite maternal fitness and health. So wishing myself luck and any positive words are appreciated, can't wait to meet my girl 💕

Relocating with no remote jobs

Have any couples/families here successfully relocated with neither partner having a remote job? Husband and I moved from my hometown to the Midwest for his job about 4 yrs ago and neither of us are happy here, wanting to leave. But one of us would be taking a big risk job-wise since neither of us have remote positions. I make twice as much as he does currently, and it's much easier for me to get a job virtually anywhere (healthcare). I could move us any time and support us if we reduced our standard of living but it might take him much longer to find employment. If we move for his career and I'm out of work for a while, we would have to utilize some amount of savings to supplement until I was employed, but it would probably be a much shorter amount of time on one income.

Just looking to hear other people's experiences, successes, failures, etc with moving a couple or family and neither adult having a remote job. And advice to pull this off eventually!

Best hospitals to deliver a baby

I have been attending Women's First OBGYN in Royal Oak for my prenatal care. I will be 30 weeks Monday and they just informed me that Royal Oak Beaumont does not accept my insurance, which is the hospital they are associated with. I have to call my insurance but I don't think any Corewell hospital will accept my insurance. Any recommendations for good hospitals and associated OB clinics in the area? I am not from here and have only been living here a couple years, have never even been to a hospital in Michigan. This is kind of a nightmare. Thank you

Edit: Women's First gave me recommendations for clinics in Roseville, Chesterfield, Macomb, and Grosse Pointe, all associated with Henry Ford St John's. Besides Grosse Pointe these are all pretty far away, I live in Oak Park and work in Detroit. I don't know anything about St John's. If there is a better option I'd love to hear about it

Wire transfer question

What's the fastest you have had a wire transfer go through from Capital One to an external domestic account? Sitting at the car dealership waiting, initiated the wire at 10:54 AM. They won't give us the plates until they receive it, but we could leave with the car without the plates and come back next business day.

▲ 2 r/ATT

I recently got ATT First Net is because I work at a jail and can't have service without it. We also have ATT 2.0, just started the plan. It is just me and my husband on the plan. I am having to pay for ATT 2.0 and FirstNet for my device which is $74.50 ($31.50 + $42.99) a month and then $31.50 a month for his service. We got him a iPhone 17e because his phone was an 11 and wouldn't even charge anymore, they told us it would be $7 a month with some promotion but the bill is showing $16.67 a month. The bill is showing $9.20 in taxes/fees for the FirstNet plan, $9.14 for my husband's device and $6.40 for mine.

This totals $147.42 for two people. Seems kind of ridiculous. I'm wondering if it's necessary for me to have both the FirstNet service and ATT 2.0 on the same phone. Did we get the bait-and-switch on the installment plan for the iPhone 17e? This is the first bill and there's also an additional $70 of activation fees making this bill $223. Looking for any advice or are we just stuck with this.

Since about 23 or 24 weeks I have not been able to have comfortable vaginal sex due to sensitivity/irritation/pain in at my vaginal opening. Doctor says it's normal due to baby restricting blood flow, hormones, etc. We stopped entirely about a week ago because it's just not enjoyable at all and I'll be 28 weeks in 2 days. I was wondering if this improved for anyone before baby came or is this my new reality for the next 3 months and then some? We tried lube but it's just not doing it. My husband is super supportive but it makes me feel blah to have this new dysfunction.
