leetcoding in python all day after writing mostly scala for years felt like writing assembly

& my brain hurts

i feel like i became 68% more like a mentat from the Dune series on a spiritual level

like the imperative style mental memory does come back, but at what cost

no wonder people want to automate code writing so much

i swear to god if i have to solve one more off by one error i will throw my laptop into the river

if this comes off as pretentious, i do not mean it

that is all, just wanted to document this experience

how much does writing a niche(ish) language for a long time hurt you?

I wrote mostly Scala in 4 different companies over 10 years. There were also other languages like Java/Spring Framework, Go, Python, and Javascript, but when you look at my resume it is *overwhelmingly* Scala. There are some different companies still using Scala but they're getting kind of scarce and frankly I'm ready to switch, not because I dislike the language itself, but because I just don't want to be limited by language.

So in this current silence I've been receiving from job applications -- which I know is perhaps just a function of the job market -- how bad is this, from a recruiting perspective? Reality is -- I can do other languages just fine? In fact, sometimes that is easier? I just feel like my resume might be getting passed over because they are looking very specifically for the words "Java" and "Spring Framework" or whatever libraries are being used in that arena. Obviously I also have *no idea* how my resume is being handled or perceived since there is zero feedback in the "chuck your resume into the void" process. Who has insider info on this? Kind of prepared to just switch industries *entirely* if/until the situation improves because this is kind of demoralizing :D

Aglaonema emerald pink soil height?

Hello! I was wanting to transfer this into a pot, but I wasn’t sure how deep it should be in the soil. Should it come up to the pink part of the stems, or be somewhere lower? Thanks for any tips
