Just picked up a 2016 Helium SL. It was pretty much bone stock as I picked it up.

I was able to shave off over a pound swapping bits and pieces off 2 older bikes plus strategic shed parts so we're down to 15.63lbs with pedals/bottle cages.

The biggest weight savings were from a pair of Easton Tempest II wheels that are around 1500g/~400g saving and a Chinese carbon bar that saved approximately 150g. I already had Conti GP5000 and Vittoria latex tubes on the wheelset so there's not much left on that bone. I have a carbon seatpost coming soon that will be cut-down - and there's 15mm or so of steering tube left to cut off once I have finished with my fitting.

I feel like all of the low-hanging fruit may have already been plucked. I'm definitely budget-constrained here - is there anything left that is an obvious win?

NBD - Ridley Helium SL

New to me 2016 Ridley Helium SL from marketplace. Full Ultegra 6800 groupset with the crank recall done. Components seem barely used. I have swapped out the stock bars, stem, saddle and wheels with items from the shed and shedded over a lb in the process.

NBD Ridley Helium SL

New to me Ridley Helium SL from marketplace. I’m not 100% on the year - I think 2015 or 2016. Full Ultegra 6800 groupset with the crank recall done. Components seem barely used. I have swapped out the stock bars, stem, saddle and wheels with items from the shed and shedded a lb in the process.

Cervelo Caledonia 5 - $3700?

Seller’s photos and description. He says it’s a 2023 backstock that he bought in 2024. He didn’t do himself any favors with the greasy chainring. I can’t tell how work it is. There’s also some significant marring on the crank. Which I’m waiting to hear back on. “Rack rash”?

Worth the asking price

Recommendation for a bright front strobe light that will wake the dead

On our local rails to trail this morning towards the end of my ride and I almost got taken out by an e-biker hauling ass - completely zoned out. I have the standard Garmin Out-Front mount. Probably one of my closest calls in decades of biking.

Any and all recommendations for something bright enough to wake up the dolts

1997 Stumpy M2 Pro.

This was supposed to be a fairly faithful resto build until I realized the cost/complexity of restoring a junky Judy and switched over to a Marzocchi Bomber for the neo retro build. The Neo retro was compounded further by the seller misclassifying the Bomber that I bought which is a 2021 BAM and not a 90s fork (caveat emptor!). Other parts creep include tires, saddle, pedals and stem. Other than that it’s pretty much of its era.

I’m enjoying it as my town shuttle/shopping bike right now. I hope it will see some trail use in flatass Florida at some point.

Last pic is the basket case I picked up on FBMP a few months ago. Judy was missing its full damper guts and there were 3 broken spokes. I was so awestruck by one of my 90s idols that I overlooked both issues!
