Seriously, does anyone have the same ?

I recently hyperfocused on my tinnitus that I have since birth. I think I have multiple tinnituses.

One in my left ear that get much louder when I tilt my head up or down, and another one in my right ear, sightly louder and with a lower pitch that get much more louder when I tilt or turn my head left/right.

Both also gets louder when I yawn, when I'm chewing, or when gritting my teeth.

This seems to be related with jaw and muscle tension in the neck.

Does anyone have it or know how to calm this specific one down ? I guess the best way is to just go back to "just ignore it and I won't notice" but it's so hard to ignore it again. I can't even focus at work anymore because of that.

I seriously wish I could go back to when I wasn't aware that it is a condition and when I thougt it was "normal". It didn't bothered me at all until I learned about it. I'm seriously considering hypnosis to ignore it for good again.

Single sided equalizer app for stereo ?

Hello everyone, i'm suffering from a single sided moderate hearing loss on high pitches and i'm wondering if anyone here know any app on android that allow us to setup SEPARATE equalizers for left and right ears when listening to music or watching videos with a headset in order to re-adjust the symmetry.

Every app that I check only seems to have just a mono equalizer and a global volume panning, which is not suited at all for a single sided hearing loss on specific pitch.

Does anyone know an app capable of that on android ?

First time trying Hearing Aids, I'm confused

Hello everyone,

First time trying audio aids and currently in a trial a Starkey Omega AI 24 MRIC R. When I started the trial, I discovered that my phone couldn't support the app and the bluetooth connexion. I have a cheap Xiaomi Redmi Note 12.

My audiologist told me that I won't be able to stream audio from my phone (which I don't care about and don't want that), but i'm wondering if i'll miss some other stuff, apparently multiple program can be set (right now only one has been set as I'm just starting the trial since yesterday). If I cannot connect my aid to my phone, does that mean that I won't be able to switch between programs ? Or will this be accessible directly with the button on the device ? I didn't thought of asking my audiologist about it yesterday.

It's not a big deal since I wanted to get a new phone soon enough anyway, so if anyone has recommendations for compatible phones with reasonable prices (the less expensive the better), please tell me.

Also is this a normal thing that I can only turn the hearing aid off by plugging it into its charger ? Is this a common design ? Because to be fair it kind of baffles me that this small battery should constantly drain even if you are not wearing the aid (like when i'm swimming or taking a nap, or not at home for an extended ammount of time)

Sorry if these questions have already been asked millions times, I'm pretty new to all of this and I don't want to take any bad decision. I have the luck to get an health insurcance that covers a decent part for hearing aids, but only once every four year. So I don't want to mess that up.

10+ years of sudden hearing loss

Around 10 years ago, when I was 15, I remember that I suddenly partially lost hearing on my right ear, just after scratching it, just as anybody would usually do. This is probably too late now to recover and I just accepted it and learned to live with it for the rest of my life.

I never knew what I had or what could have happened nor do I know now.

When this happened, I told my parents, their first reaction was something like "eh it's probably nothing, it will go away on its own".

I had to insist with them for weeks so we could see an ENT (which is greatly covered by insurances where I live).

The ENT couldn't see what was wrong with my ears, he saw nothing suspicious at all. He made me pass a hearing test with different frequencies on each ears. And then I saw the curves on the graph, showing that I couldn't hear some high pitched frequency at all with my right ear anymore.

The ENT went like "well, sorry kid, I can't help you, you're doomed"

I notice that especially every summer, there are lots of crickets in my area and I can barely hear them with my right ear if I focus enough.

Since that incident, every time I breath with my nose, my right ear seems to close on its own, due to the air flow. And when I open wide my jaws it seems that I can partially recover from my hearing loss.

I'm just curious to know if anyone had the same thing here. Do anyone have an idea of what could have happened to me or what I actually have ?
