I've just got the chance to walk through one of my favourite parks after years of closure and millions spent in redevelopment, aaaannnd it's full of drug users already.

I spent most of my teenage summers chilling here with my friends. Lots of fond memories.

It's been closed since around 2021, had millions spent on modernisation, landscaping and long needed repairs and honestly it looks absolutely beautiful.

It reopened a couple of weeks ago and I've finally had a day of annual leave to have a stroll. Within 20 minutes I've been called "oi" 3 times, been started on twice, almost tripped over someone off their face on god knows what, and I've just been fist bumped for having nice tattoos who couldn't decide whether to fist bump me with his can of beer hand or his joint hand (atleast he was pleasant though I'll give him that).

NDR - people who are always walking against the crowd after a gig. Where do you come from?

Maybe sort of DR.

You look like you've been to the gig, there's only one exit so you didn't go out of the wrong one. Theres thousands of people walking in the same direction but you look like you've turned up 3 hours late expecting to catch the last song or like you got halfway home and remembered about your lost shoe and turned back.

Who are you, where do you come from, and why do you do it?

People being taken from pits on stretchers at outbreak this weekend. What is going on?

Screenshot of a Facebook post on the damnation Festival forum page discussing people being taken out of pits on stretchers in numbers.

Personally I've never seen people getting stretchered out of a pit in numbers at any event before. I get It's the hardcore scene and the style of moshing is going to be a bit more agressive. But, in my experience the lads who used to partake always knew what they were doing and how to keep themselves safe. (I always know I'm out of my depth when I see people warming up and stretching on the side of a pit).

Do you think people don't know how to keep themselves safe anymore, and have lost the ability to recognise when they're out of their depth and when to take a step back?

Or do you think it's the lads who go out to intentionally injure people, standing on the edge sticking the boot in?

Or a mix of both?

Card reader not working at various vendors in the village last year. Am I missing something?

Bit of a random one from last year at Download — did anyone else notice some vendors in the village mysteriously “having issues” with card payments?

What confused me was they were still fully operating and cooking food, but the card machines at certain stalls suddenly weren’t working while others nearby were completely fine.

I get download is stricly card only, but is there sometimes a bit of an unspoken “cash preferred” thing going on? Genuine question because I don’t know if I’m being cynical or oblivious. And I want my food when I'm hungry 😅

More Simon graffiti

Two of these are on the actual barriers for the spring Bank crossing so you only see them when the trains are coming.
